<br />1-1INUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF ARDEN HILLS <br />MO~DAY, July 2g, 1959 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at g:15 p.m. by Mayor Ashbach. <br /> <br />Roll Call: Present; Ashbach, DeLange, Winfred, Crepeau, Stromquist <br />Absent; none. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The minutes of the July l~, 1959 meeting of the Council were read and <br />approved. <br /> <br />Several residents from Grant Road appeared and objeated to the storm <br />sewer project for Grant Road, stating they would receive no benefit <br />from it. Mayor Ashbach and Council members reminded them that no ob- <br />jections at all were expressed at prior public hearing and Council has <br />already let the bids for the project. Mayor Ashbach informed the group <br />that a public hearing on aSsessments will be held before any assessment <br />is levied. <br /> <br />Mr. S. J. Krannak requested Council to allow him to post a bond guaran- <br />teeing road completion in Shorewood Hills #7 but requested that the black- <br />topping be delayed a year or two until houses are in ss that trucks will <br />not break up a newly surfaced road. Upon motion by DeLange, seconded by <br />Winfrey, Clerk was authorized to write a letter to FHA_stating that Coun- <br />cil agreed to allow the developer up to two years for road completion of <br />proposed Shorewood Hills #7 plat; the completion date to be at the dis- <br />gression of the Village Council, with road performance bond to be furnished <br />Village by developer, amount to be determined by Village Engineer Carley. <br />Motion passed. Engineer Carley to inform FHA in Minneapolis of the action <br />taken. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The Public Welfare Committee recommended that Shorewood Hills #7 be re- <br />zoned to allow multiple dwelling units on condition that that type of <br />dwelling be built there exclusively, and also that developer set aside a <br />usable area for playground purposes and also provide ample off-street <br />parking facilities. <br /> <br />Upon motion by Winfrey, seconded by Stromquist, the proposed plat of <br />Shorewood Hills #7 was given preliminary approval, subject to off- <br />street parking and playground facilities to be furnished by developer. <br />Motion passed. Engineer Carley to check the plat to see if the Village <br />request for a playground is a reasonable request. Mr. Krannak was re- <br />quested to present Council with plans for drainage, road grades, bond <br />and list of restrictions before final approval of plat. <br /> <br />ATTORNEY'S REPORT: Mr. Courtney presented application for tax abate- <br />ment to Clerk for signature. <br /> <br />Upon motion by DeLange, seconded by Winfrey, Cummings Lane in Registered <br />Land Survey #112 was formally accepted as a village roe.<'~. Motion passed. <br />The Village of Arden Hills has maintained the road during 1957 and 1955. <br />
