Crepeau, Jr., Councilmen Stanley Olmen <br />John Hollenhorst, E. Zehm. <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes <br />The Minutes of the Regular Councl I Meeting of June 8, 1970 were <br />approved as submitted. <br /> <br />BUSINESS FROM THE FLOOR <br /> <br />Mr. John RysQaard and William Ruppel, Public Safety Committee <br />After revIew of a letter to the Council from Mr. Rysgaard, the <br />Council scheduled a discussion meeting with the Public Safety <br />Committee to be held on Thursday, July 9, 1970 at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Mr. AI Care, Arthur W. Hage Construction Company. 893 West Highway <br />96 <br />Mr. Care presented a preliminary plot plan and letter, dated June <br />17, 1970. requesting the Council to extend water service to the <br />southeast corner of Hemline Avenue and County Road F. Mr. Care <br />advised the Council that his company proposes an office building <br />for this location. He also requested that the sanitary sewer be <br />extended to serve this property. <br /> <br />Engineer Lund was requested to prepare a feasibility report for <br />the extension of water and sewer service to the site, after which <br />the matter Is to be referred to the Planning Commission for recom- <br />mendations to the Council. <br /> <br />Dr. and Mrs, Edward Ca I ph, 1651 West County Road F <br />Dr. and Mrs. Calph advised the Council of the damage to their <br />property by Northdale Construction Company. After review of a <br />letter from The Park Nurseries, Inc., dated June 22, 1970, Attorney <br />Vincent P. Courtney was requested to send a copy of the letter <br />to Northdale Construction Company. Engineer Lund to provide <br />Attorney Courtney with a copy of the Northdale Contract. <br /> <br />REPORT OF ATTORNEY VINCENT P. COURTNEY <br /> <br />LeaQue of Women Voters Informational Brochure <br />After review of Attorney Courtney's letter of June 19, 1970, and <br />the Attorney General's opinion In letter of June 17, 1970, the <br />Council requested Clerk Administrator Lorraine Stromquist to <br />send copies of both letters re this matter to the League of Women <br />Voters In explanation of the Council's denial of their request <br />that the Vlliage subsidize the cost of the Informational brochure. <br /> <br />Outdoor Burning Ordinance <br />Attorney Courtney advised the Council that the ordinance, as <br />adopted, does not provide for Issuance of permits by local <br />authorities. A letter requesting authority be given to Arden <br />HI lis to Issue such permits has been sent to the Minnesota <br />Pollution Control Director. <br /> <br />Mr. Tom Lynch, 3210 North Hamllne, asked If tree branches can be <br />burned. <br /> <br />Mayor Crepeau advised that the rubbish haulers wi II pick these up <br />if cut Into three-foot lengths. <br />
