Crepeau, Jr., Councilmen Charles Crichton, <br />William Feyereisen, James Wingert, Robert Woodburn. <br />Absent - None <br />Also Present - Attorney James Lynden, Planner Richard Fredlund, <br />Treasurer Donald Lamb, Police Chief Pat Sexton, <br />Public Works Supervisor Hans Johansen, Clerk <br />AdminIstrator Charlotte McNiesh <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Wingert move4, seconded by Crichton, that the Council approve <br />the Minutes of the Regular Council Meeting of June 30, 1975, as <br />submitted. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />BUSINESS FROM THE FLOOR <br />None <br /> <br />REPORT OF POLICE CHIEF PAT SEXTON <br /> <br />1976 BudQet <br />Sexton reviewed Public Safety Committee Minutes of July 7, 1975 <br />noting that an lnvestlgator/Juveni Ie officer wll I be provided for <br />in 1976 budget, probably using a patrolman now on the staff, plus <br />an additional officer on probationary status for one year. Sexton <br />explained need for investigator officer to clear more cases. <br />Council concurred that Public Safety Committee and Chief determine <br />total cost for proposal and present goals to be achieved. Council <br />requested monthly reports, similar to annual statistics presented, <br />re crime and clearances in Arden Hills. <br /> <br />Ramsey County Communication System <br />Sexton and Picha reviewed operation of new system, noting that <br />UHF and VHF are necessary, major vehicles of Fire Department are <br />equipped with 155.115, Parks and Public Works will continue to <br />use present radios, police pack sets now being used could be sold <br />for about $100 or used by Parks and Public Works. Federal/State <br />funding wi II not cover all sets needed by police, but It would <br />be cheaper to buy extra sets now due to quantity discounts. <br /> <br />Crichton moved, seconded by Feyerelsen that Councl I approve <br />Resolution No, 75-27. RESOLUTION OF INTENT TO FINANCE ARDEN HILL'S <br />SHARE OF THE RAMSEY COUNTY LAW ENFORCEMENT RAOIO COMMUNICATIONS <br />GR~NT., authorizing City to appropriate $578 for City share. <br />Motion carried unanimously. Council concurred that decision re <br />extra requested equipment be delayed to later meeting. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />B & E Patrol <br />Sexton reported B & E Patrol has gone out of business, City is <br />currently using MAPSI and that he has written to New Brighton <br />concerning possible use of their faci Ilties. <br /> <br />Squad Cars <br />Crichton suggested that Chief check possibility of using smaller <br />squad cars as discussed In article In League of Minnesota <br />Municipalities July issue. . <br /> <br />REPORT OF PUBLIC WORKS SUPERVISOR HANS JOHANSEN <br /> <br />Teorey ReslQnatlon <br />Crichton moved, seconded by Wingert that Councl t accept resignation <br />of Ronald Teorey. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />!nstallation of Safety Oevices on Water Tower <br />Wingert moved, seconded by Crichton that bid of $198 for Installation <br />of safety devices on water tower be awarded to Al I Tech. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />
