Crepeau, Jr., Councilmen Gharles Crlch'ton, <br />James Wingert, Robert Woodburn, Wi Illam Feyereisen. <br />Absent - None. <br />Also Present - Village Engineer Donald Christoffersen, Public Works <br />Superintendent Hans Johansep, CI~rk Administrator Charlotte <br />McNlesh, Deputy Clerk Dorothy Lehm. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Woodburn moved, seconded by Crichton, that the Council approve the <br />Minutes of the Regular Counci I ~:eeting of Apri I 14, 1975, as amended. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />BDSINESS FROM THE FLOOR <br />None. <br /> <br />REPORT OF PUBLIC WORKS SUPERVISOR HANS JOHANSEN <br /> <br />. Street Name Si~ns <br />Johansen referrod Council to his memo of 4/17/75 re Street Name <br />Signs. Johansen advised that a number of signs should be replaced, <br />and reported that the Public Works Committee recommends instigating <br />the color scheme used In St. Paul and Minneapolis - brown for east/ <br />west streets. and green for north/south streets; a I so recommends <br />reflectorized border and letters. <br /> <br />After discussion, Wingert moved, seconded by Feyereisen, that Council <br />authorize the purchase of reflectorized two-color street signs, <br />as described. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Standby Power for Lift Station #7 <br />Johansen referred Counci I to his memo of 4/16/75 re the possibility <br />of acquiring standby power from Presbyterian Homes to operate #7 <br />Lift Station during power outages. <br /> <br />In discussion, Counc! I noted that Presbyterian Homes in currently <br />proposing a 226 bed expansion program; capacity of pump should be <br />determined, as well as future needs of Presbyterian Homes; also <br />ultimate number of homes to be served by 1 i ft #7. <br /> <br />J oha!,!sen re porte d th at pump is p resen t I Y work I ng at about teapae i ty ; <br />no undue stress is'anticLpated, even if expansion plans of Presby- <br />terian Homes doubles its use. <br /> <br />Johansen noted that a service road to lift #7 was formerly proposed; <br />Presbyterian Homes may desire this road installation some time in <br />the future. <br /> <br />Flow Meters for Lift Stations #7 and #9 <br />Johansen referred Counci I to his memo of 4/17/75 re proposed replace- <br />ment of 'flow meters on li7 and #9 Iiftstationsnuy ~letropolltan <br />Waste Water Control. Commission. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Johansen reported that the flow meters have not been working properly, <br />and should probably be replaced. <br /> <br />After a brief discussion, Counci 1 concurred wi'th the flow meter, _/,J- <br />~~~::,e;,~y .Metropolitan~ste Water Control Commission;,~~ <br />".,.~i:t.d e,." ,~. . <br />Leaf Pi ckup Equi pment . <br />Johansen reported that th~ Public Works Committee discussed the leaf <br />pick up/compost pile pr:oposal and ~Ionerallyco~urs.that it is a good <br />idea. <br /> <br />Johansen ri;lported that Rosevi lie hes had a leaf pickup machine for <br />4 years (no street sweeping attachment) - Shoreview has ordered a <br />machine for leaf pickup and street sweeping (to be received next ,winter. <br /> <br />-1- <br /> <br />'..........,.;;....::.....;.:.... .;.... ._~. <br />
