'.'" <br /> <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br />Village of Arden Hills <br />Monday, August 26, 1974 - 8:00 p.m. <br />V I I I age Ha I I <br /> <br />Ca II to Orde r <br /> <br />... <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes <br />The Minutes of the Councl I Meeting of August 12, 1914, were approved <br />as amended. <br /> <br />BUSINESS FROM THE FLOOR: <br /> <br />Mounds View School Dlstr(ct No. 621 - Re uest to Dela landsca In <br />and Covered Walkways, Mounds View High School Temporarv Bu Idlngs. <br />Mr. Robert Engwer, Business Administrator, Mounds View School Ols- <br />tri ct No. 621, requested that the Council wal va temporarily the <br />requirements that canopies and landscaping be included In the con- <br />struction of the temporary buildings at Mounds View High School at <br />this time. He explained that bids were received for the buildings, <br />Including an alternate for the canopies; the low bid was for a de- <br />duct of $15,500 without the canopies. He said no certain commitment <br />can be given as to when the canopies and landscaping could be com- <br />pleted, but It would be his recommendation to the Board that these <br />costs be Included in next year's planning. <br /> <br />After discussion, Feyerelsen moved that f,10unds View School District <br />be al.lowed to proceed, with the understanding i'hat the canopies and <br />landscaping will be completed before Inclement weather of 1911. <br />~lotlon was seconded by Olmen and carried (Crepeau, Feyereisen, Olmen, <br />Wingert voting In favor of the motIon; Crichton voting In opposition). <br /> <br />Mr. Engwer assured the Council that it Is the desire of the School <br />District to cooperate and work with the various City Councl Is. <br /> <br />gr. Robert Levitt - Pemtom Townhouse Villages <br />Or. Levitt, representing the Home Owners' Association at Townhouse <br />Villages at Arden Hills, requested thai' the Council authorize tile <br />Installation of.a street light at the Intersection of Hamllne Avenue <br />and Arden View Court, and to Install three appropriate speed limit <br />signs along Arden View Court, suggesting 15 miles per hour. <br /> <br />.After discussion of the proposed globe lighting along the north side <br />of the entrance to the Townhouse Villages (extending from about 60 <br />feet from the center line of Hamllne Avenue westerly from the bus <br />shefter), and procedure re establishment of speeds on VI flage streets, <br />".,athe Council referred the speed sign request to the Public Safety <br />~Commlttee to determine approprIate speed for Arden View Court. Attor- <br />ney lynden was asked to advise whether the Village can set speed limIts. <br />Determination re the lighting request was deferred by the Councl I until <br />after Installation of the globe Ilgh'I'lng. Mr. Hili Indicated that <br />this InstallatIon can probably be completed ~dthln six (6) weeks, <br /> <br />REPORT OF VilLAGE ATTORNEY JAMES lYNDEN . <br /> <br />~e No. 74-14, Pemtom, Inc. - Seeel!!1 Use Permit <br />Lynden reviewed the Special Use Permit for the north area of the Pemtom <br />development. <br /> <br />After discussion, Wingert moved, seconded by CrIchton, that the Counc! I <br />approve the Special Use Permit, Case No. 14-14, as presented, with the <br />following amendments: <br /> <br />I. Add "dated 5-20-74" to the second paragraph on page I. <br />2. In condition No.6, delete '!.from back of curb to back of <br />curb" and change "25 feet" to "24 feet". <br />
