<br />',-~~ <br />~K <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br />Village of Arden Hills <br />Monday, March I I, 1974 - 8:00 p.m. <br />Village Hall <br /> <br />Ca I I to Order <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Crepeau at 6:00 p.m. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Present - Mayor Henry J. Crepeau, Jr., Councilmen William Feyerelsen, <br />James Wingert, Charles Crichton. <br />Absent - Counci Iman Stan Olmen. <br />Also Present - Attorney James Lynden, Engineer Donald Lund, Planner <br />Otto Schmid, Treasurer Richard O'Kelly, Parks Director <br />John Buckley, Clerk Administrator Charlotte McNlesh, Deputy <br />Clerk Dorothy Zehm. <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes <br />The Minutes of the Regular Council Meeting of February 25, 1974, were <br />,pproved as amended (amended Minutes to be sent to Councl I members). <br /> <br />Business from the Floor <br />Pollee Chief Pat Sexton reported that the Public Safety Committee <br />has recommended that Council approve the hiring of Mr. Douglas McCall <br />as a full-time patrolman @ $5.21/hr. starting March 25, 1974, for a <br />six month probationary perlo~ at ~~ie~ ti~e ~19 salary wewld ~e Fe <br />vi"""QO. <br /> <br />After discussion, W. Feyerelsen moved that the Councl I approve the <br />hiring of Douglas McCal I according to the recommendations of the <br />Public Safety Committee, as outlined by Pollee Chief Sexton, starting <br />March 25, 1974 @ $5.21/hr. Motion was seconded by J. Wingert. <br /> <br />In further discussion, it was noted that the Public Safety Committee <br />is also considering hiring a part-time patrolman; if both men are <br />hired, as proposed, salary costs would be considerably above the <br />budget for this year. <br /> <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />REPORT OF VILLAGE ATTORNEY JAMES LYNDEN <br /> <br />Case No. 72-35. Registered Land Survey - PemtQm's Sixth Addition <br />Wingert moved, seconded by Crichton, that Councl I approve the R.L.S. <br />and authorize Mayor and Clerk Administrator to execute same. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Gordon Fickett Matter <br />Attorney Lynden referred the Councl I to hIs letter of March I I, 1974. <br />After discussion, Crichton moved, seconded by Wingert, that the <br />Council authorize Attorney Lynden to offer Mr. Fickett's attorney <br />$1500. to settle. MotIon carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Attorney Lynden was requested to offer the financial settlement, but <br />no reinstatement and resignation. <br /> <br />-. <br /> <br />Lambros Ditch <br />Lynden reported that Shorevlew has voted to approve the amended cost <br />allocation; Rosevll Ie will discuss the tncre~jed costs, for their <br />share of the Lambros Ditch project tonight; ~ has not receIved approval, <br />to date, from Ramsey County. He reported that the contractor has been <br />authorized to start work on the project. <br /> <br />Special Use Permit - Estben. Inc. <br />Attorney Lynden presented the Special Use Permit for Case No. 73-49, <br />Estben, Inc., to the Council for review; stating that the Council <br />approved the permit on February 25, 1974J-_~' '..
