Crepeau, Jr., Councilmen Ward Hanson, <br />Charles Crichton, James Wingert, Robert Woodburn. <br />Absent - None. <br />Also Present - Village Attorney James Lynden, Engineer Donald <br />Christoffersen, Treasurer Donald Lamb, Parks Director <br />John Buckley, Building inspector Larry Squires, Clerk <br />Administrator Charlotte McNlesh, Deputy Clerk Dorothy <br />Zehm. <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes <br />Wingert moved, seconded by Crichton, that Council approve the <br />Minutes of the Regular Council Meeting of May 9, 1977, as amended. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Business from the Floor <br />Towlno Service <br />Dick Schoonover, Schoonover Auto Body and Towing, noted the follow- <br />Ing towing qualIfications provided by Schoonovers; requested that <br />Council favorably consider Schoonovers when contracting for CIty <br />towing service: <br /> <br />I. Full-time towing manager and experienced drivers. <br />2. 5 to 15 minute guaranteed service response. <br />3. 751 of City's tows are within I mile of Schoonover's shop. <br />4. 8 pieces of equipment to serve all towing needs (I-ton <br />to 10-ton trucks). <br />5.. Drivers have had many hours of learning and experience. <br />6. 100-watt base station - all trucks are radio dispatched _ <br />24 hr. answering service. <br />7. ilmpounded cars can be housed Indoors.. <br />a. Large fenced aree, well lighted at night. <br />9. Trucks are equipped wIth attachments to handle foreign <br />, <br />cars, snowmobiles, motor bikes, cycles, etc. <br />10. Equipped wIth tools to open cers, heavy duty cables etc. <br />II. Drivers live In the community. <br />12. LiabilIty Insurance coverage of SI00,OOO/$300,OOO limits. <br /> <br />Petition to Remove Trees and Embankment <br />Mrs. Charles Caron, 3377 Lake Johanna Boulevard, presented a <br />petItion to Council requesting the removal of trees and an embank- <br />ment at the Intersection of Lake Johanna Boulevard and Lake Lane <br />to alleviate a blInd approach onto Lake Johanna Boulevard; petition <br />contained about 17 signatures. <br /> <br />Council noted that private, County and City properties are apparently <br />Involved. <br /> <br />After discussion, McNlesh was requested to determine the County <br />right-of-way, and to refer the request to Engineer Christoffersen <br />for his recommendations to Council. <br /> <br />Mrs. Caron suggested that the "Dead End" sign be relocated, In the <br />Interim, so It Is mora visible. <br /> <br />REPORT OF PARKS DIRECTOR JOHN BUCKLEY <br /> <br />Buckley referred Counell to his memo of May 20, 1977 re the fol~owlng: <br /> <br />A. Additional Tennis Instructor <br />Crichton moved that CouncIl authorize the hiring of Scott <br />Hagberg as tennis Instructor I $6.00/hr. for the Spring <br />Program. Motion was seconded by Wingert and carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />B. Summer Playground Employees <br />Crichton move~~q~~YJl~~~~n, that CouncIl authorize <br />the hiring ofAthe-s-~~gro~leaders as per BUCkley's <br />memo of 5/20177.
