Crepeau, Jr., Councilmen William Feyerelsen, <br />James Wingert, Charles Crichton, Robert Woodburn. <br />Absent - None. <br />Also Present - Treasurer Donald Lamb, Public Works Supervisor Hans <br />Johansen, Parks Director John Buckley, BuIlding Inspector <br />Larry Squires, Clerk AdminIstrator Charlotte McNlesh, Deputy <br />Clerk Dorothy Zehm. <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes <br />Wingert moved, seconded by Feyerelsen, that Council approve the Minutes <br />of the Regular Council Meeting of July 12, 1976, as submitted. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Business from the Floor <br />None. <br /> <br />REPORT OF PUBLIC WORKS SUPERVISOR BUD JOHANSEN <br /> <br />State AId Road Designation <br />Johansen referred Council to his memo of 7-21-76 re the Public Works <br />Committee's recommendation to delete Harriet Avenue as a state aid <br />road and to designate Frontage Road (south of Highway 96 and east of <br />35 W) to 14th Street N.E. and 14th Street extended In a southeast <br />direction (parallel to 1-694) to connect with Old Highway 10, (totals <br />1.33 miles; entitled to 1.62 miles). <br /> <br />After discussion, Crichton offered to work on an alternate proposal <br />to possibly cover the additional .29 mIles of dedication, for CouncIl's <br />c'ons I derat I on. <br /> <br />(Johansen was requested to notify Council of date designation must <br />be submitted.) <br /> <br />Blacktop Roller <br />Council reviewed Johansen's memo re proposed purchase of used blacktop <br />roller. <br /> <br />After discussion, Feyerelsen moved, seconded by Wingert, that Council <br />authorize the purchase of the used blacktop roller at price quoted <br />($600 plus parts). Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />REPORT OF VILLAGE TREASURER DONALD LAMB <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Investments <br />July 22, 1976 invested $180,000 8 6.20% for one year. <br /> <br />Crichton moved, seconded by Feyerelsen, that Council ratify the In- <br />vestment as reported. Mot I on carr I ed unan I mous'l y. <br /> <br />HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION PROFilE OF HOUSING IN ARDEN HilLS <br />Dorothy 'Sulllvan and-Mary'AifeTsman presented the Human-RTghts Commission <br />Profile of Housing In Arden Hills (May, 1976) to Council for Its con- <br />sideration and comments. Dorothy Sullivan stated that the report Is <br />intended to be up-dated periodically; suggested that next census would <br />be a good tIme for next up-date. <br /> <br />Mrs. Sullivan noted that a list of sources and methods used to obtain <br />Information will be added to the report. <br /> <br />Mary Adelsman stated that Income figures (p.18) were obtained from <br />Minnesota Department of Economic Development; cost of living and wages. <br />have increased since 1970, but figures are not available for all work <br />categories; figures available and reported are for manufacturing only. <br />, <br /> <br />-1- <br />
