Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />BUSINESS FROM THE FLOOR <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />Non". <br /> <br />Proposed MTC Bus Route No. 38 <br />Deforred to later meeting at request of MTC (Apri I 12th or 26th). <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />REPORT OF VILLAGE TREASURER DONALD LAMB <br /> <br />Cummings Park <br />Treasurer Lamb reported present Interest rates compared to interest <br />rates a year ago and noted that, If we can,assume the interest ratos <br />wll: remain at 6t% (contract 7t%); would save 1% In interest (about <br />$185.00Ast year - $481.00/4 years) by prepaying balance of Cummings <br />Park payments at this time. <br /> <br />I n oj I scuss I on, Counc i I noted that p repayment can be made at any t I me; <br />It IS not known that interest rates are going to hold; not an appre- <br />ciable advantage to City at the moment to pre-pay. <br /> <br />REPGRT OF VILLAGE PARKS DIRECTOR JOHN BUCKLEY' <br /> <br />Proposed Improvements of Bike and Walblay System <br />Buckley Introduced members of the Arden Hills League of Women Voters <br />whose ~Iocal study project" this year is working with the Parks and <br />Recreation Committee re Improvement of bike and walkway system of <br />Arden Hills. <br /> <br />Buci'ley reported that three stages are recommended - proposing <br />Pha:;e to be implemented this spring and summer; Phase: I within <br />I - 5 years; Phase III within 10 - 15 years. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Buckle'! outl ined the three phases proposed, for Counci I's considera- <br />tion (msmc - dated 2/27/76), and defined the three types of bike <br />pathways as follows: <br /> <br />Bike Path - separated from the street. <br />Bike Lane - on the street, with visual barrier or physical barrier, <br />Bike Route - on the street, share same roadway space as motorists. <br /> <br />P,pp ,'ox; mate cost <br />fol:0\~5: <br />Bi ke Path <br /> <br />of the various pathways was noted by Buckley as <br /> <br />- 3"-4" crushed rock <br />hard surface <br />B; ke Lane - protected <br />unprotected <br />Bike Route - Signs and stene!
