<br />'l <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR COUNCIL MEET!NG <br />Village of Arden Hills <br />Monday, February 23, 1976 - 7: 30 p.m. <br />V I I I age Ha I I <br /> <br />Ca II to Order <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Crepeau at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Present - Mayor Henry J. Crepeau, Jr., Councilmen WI II lam Feyerelsen, <br />James Wingert, Charles Crichton, Robert Woodburn. <br />Absent - None. <br />Also Present - Attorney James Lynden, Engineer Donald Christoffersen, <br />Treasurer Donald Lamb, Parks Director John Buckley, <br />Bui Iding Inspector Larry Squires, Clerk Administrator <br />Charlotte McNiesh, Deputy Clerk Dorothy Zehm. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes <br />Wingert moved, seconded by Crichton, that the Minutes of the <br />Regular Council Meeting of February 9, 1976, be approved as amended. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />BUSINESS FROM THE FLOOR <br /> <br />Certificate of Appreciation <br />Mayor Crepeau thanked Mr. Ken Boss, on behalf of the Council, Parks <br />and Recreation and Finance Committees, for his several years' ser- <br />vice to the Vii lage on both committees, and presented him with a <br />Certificate of Appreciation and picture of Mr. Boss at work in one <br />of the Vi llage parks. <br /> <br />REPORT OF VILLAGE PARKS DIRECTOR JOHN BUCKLEY <br /> <br />Diseased Tree Report <br />Buckley referred Councl I to his memo (2/23/76) re Payment for <br />Tree Service and reported that all diseased trees listed for removal <br />by Whitesell Tree Service, Inc. have been removed, as well as all <br />brush; recommended Councl I approval of payment of the Whitesell <br />Tree Service; Inc. claim. <br /> <br />Crichton moved, seconded by Wingert, that Counci I authorize payment <br />of $3,045.63 to Whitesell Tree Service, Inc. per list attached to <br />Buckley memo (2/23/76). Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Garden Plots <br />Buckley reported that garden plots will be avai Lable again this <br />year in two of the previous garden locations (N.S.P. substation <br />on Old Highway 10 and the Francis Husnik ~al property (Snel ling <br />Avenue North, south of Highway 96). Buckley suggested that a third <br />garden site location might be developed In either Cummings Park <br />(Lexington Avenue) or behind the Fire Station (New Brighton Road) <br />for use next year (area should be plowed over this year for next <br />year planting), <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />In discussion of water availability at the existing and proposed <br />sites, it was suggested that Buckley work out some arrangements <br />with the Pub II c Works Oepa rtment for presentat i on to the Counc II . <br /> <br />Approval of Junior Mustang Basketbal I Coaches and Spring Program <br />Instructors <br />McNlesh was requested to check Vii lage liabi lity insurance coverage <br />re recreation activities. <br /> <br />After review of Buckley memo (2/23/76) listing Girls' Gymnastics, <br />Jun10r Mustang Spring Basketball and Spring Progra~ leaders, Crichton <br />moved, seconded by Woodburn, that Counci I approve the leaders, rates <br />and the Racketbal I Services at Roseviile's King's Court, as listed. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Neighborhood Meetings <br />Buckley reported that two neighborhood Informational meetings have <br />been scheduled re concept plans for the development of two neighbor- <br />hood parks: <br /> <br />Tuesday, March 9 @ 7:00 p.m. - Vii lage Hal I - Floral Park <br />Thursday, March II @ 7:30 p.m. - Lake Johanna Elementary School = <br />(Hazelnut Patch area). <br /> <br />-1- <br />
