Crepeau, Jr. <br /> <br />Also Present - Public Works Superintendent Hans Johansen, Park <br />Director John Buckley, Clerk Administrator Charlotte <br />McNiesh, Deputy Clerk Dorothy Zehm <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes <br />Wingert moved, seconded by Hanson, that the Minutes of the <br />Council Meeting of April 28, 1980 be approved as amended. <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Re gular <br />Motion <br /> <br />Business from the Floor <br />None. <br /> <br />REPORT OF VILLAGE ATTORNEY JAMES LYNDEN - Absent <br /> <br />.Re'l.'!l!s.t.to..Abate Assessments for Water Impr.77-5 and 78-2 - Ca1iguire <br />CouIlcl1waa referred to Lynden's letter of 5-12-80 re Ca1iguire <br />as..SSlleDt matter. <br /> <br />Crichton moved, seconded by Hanson, that Council abate the special <br />assessment of $1,395.21 for Water Improvements 77-5 and 78-2 against <br />the Caliguira property and authorize Attorney Lynden to prepare <br />the necessary documents to effect the abatement. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />REPORT OF VILLAGE PLANNER ORLYN MILLER <br /> <br />Case No. 80-9~ Variance for Garage Replacement <br />Mark Peterson, 4468 N. Hamline Avenue <br />Miller rel'erred Council to transparency of the subject lot and <br />adjacent properties, indicating location of existing buildings, <br />and to picture of existing Peterson garage which applicant proposes <br />to replsc",. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Miller reported that the Board of Appeals and Planning Commission <br />recommend approval of the sideyard variance because of the hardship <br />of existing trees aud location of existing driveway and buildings <br />in the ares; noted that written statements f~om affected neighbors <br />indicate they are amenable to the variance requested. <br /> <br />After discussion, Winge~t moved, seconded by Hanson, that the <br />Council approve the 6' sideyard variance for garage replacement <br />at 4468 N. Hamline Avenue as requested, based on the hardships <br />described. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Case No. 80-4, Lot Split - Walter Dunnett <br />Miller referred Council to his report and to transparency of pro- <br />posed lot split; described the various options considered for <br />subdivision of the property. Mi1le~ reported that Engineer Christoff- <br />ersen (letter of 4-21-80) concurs that, while desirable to provide <br />access to the lots from Oak Avenue, it may not be feasible or <br />de~irnb1e because of serious road construction problem e cau.ed by <br />eX1stlng topography. <br />
