<br />M~NUTES OF THE ARDEN HILLS REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br />MONDAY, JANUARY 8, 1990, 7:30 P.M. - CITY HALL <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, Mayor Sather <br />called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> <br />The roll being called the following members were present: <br />Mayor Thomas Sather, Councilmembers Nancy Hansen, Paul <br />Thomas Mnhowald. Also present: Planner John Bergly, <br />Dan Winkel, Clerk Administrator Gary Berger and Deputy <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Malone, JoAnn Growe and <br />Public Works Supervisor <br />Clerk Catherine Iago. <br /> <br />ADOPT AGENDA Councilmember Malone requested an additional item be <br />placed on the Agenda, under Consent Calendar: Item "g", <br />Resolution #90-06, Proclaiming January 20, 1990, as Edmond-Ollhoff Day. <br /> <br />Malone moved, seconded by Growe, to adopt the January 8 <br />Council Agenda as amended to include Resolution #90-06. Motion carried <br />unanimously. (5-0) <br /> <br />APPROVE MINUTES Councilmember Malone referred to page 5 of the 12-26-89 <br />Council meeting minutes, under the "Continental <br />Apartments". Malone explained his request for the Planning Commission to review <br />the building and structural plans as relates to the use of trusses in building <br />construction did not specifically relate to Continental Development Corporation <br />apartments rather to all construction in general. <br /> <br />Malone moved, seconded by Growe, that Council approve the <br />minutes of the 12-26-89 Regular Council meeting as amended. Motion carried <br />unanimously. (5-0) <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />OATH OF OFFICE Mayor Sather administered the Oath of Office to Clerk <br />Administrator Gary Berger. The Clerk advised Treasurer <br />Frank Green was unable to attend the meeting. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR Malone moved, seconded by Growe, that Council adopt the <br />Consent Calendar for the January 8, 1990 meeting and <br />'authorize execution of all necessary documents contained therein: <br /> <br />a. Adoption of Resolution No. 90-01, "DESIGNATING DEPOSITORIES AND CORPORATION <br />AUTHORIZATION". <br />b. Adoption of Resolution No. 90-02, "DESIGNATING ADDITIONAL DEPOSITORIES FOR <br />INVESTMENT PURPOSES". <br />c. Adoption of Resolution No. 90-03, "DESIGNATING BROKERAGE FIRMS FOR INVESTMENT <br />IN FEDERAL GOVERNMENT INSTRUMENTS". <br />d. Adoption of Resolution No. 90-04, "RESOLUTION FOR TRANSFER OF FUNDS BY <br />TELEPHONIC INSTRUCTIONS". <br />e. Adoption of Resolution No. 90-05, "ESTABLISHING MSA STREET". <br />f. Acknowledgment of 1989 Construction Activity Report. <br />g. Approval of Water Interconnect Change Order #4. <br />h. Approval of Additional 1990 Refuse Hauler and Business Licenses. <br />i. Approval of List of Claims and Payroll. <br />g. Adoption of Resolution No. 90-06, "PROCLAIMING JANUARY 20, 1990, AS <br />EDMOND-OLLHOFF DAY". <br /> <br />Motion carried unanimously. (5-0) <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Councilrnernber Mahowald questioned the decrease in valuation of the average <br />single-family dwellings in 1989, as indicated in the Construction Activity Report <br />submitted by the Building Inspector; the valuation decreased approximately <br />$50,000.00. <br /> <br />Clerk Administrator Berger explained the average home valuation tends to decre2se <br />as communities become more mature suburb~;. <br />
