Crepeau, Jr., Councilmen John Hollenhorst. <br />Stanley Olmen; ~. Gray Henderson, Ronald Herrick. <br />Absent - None. <br />Also Present - Planning Commission Chairman Larry McGough, Clerk <br />Administrator Lorraine Stromquist, Village Attorney <br />Ylncent P. Courtney, Engineers Roger Short, Donald Lund <br />and Donald' Cfirl~tensen, representati~es from McDonald <br />and Associates, Wayne Brown, Henry Bownlk and Leonard <br />Hoff. <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />Ed Salverda, County CommissIoner, and Deane Anklan and <br />Floyd Snyker, Ramsey County Engineers arrived at abo~t <br />8:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Resolution re Federal, ReVi8nue Sharln!! <br />Mrs. Stromquist reViewed a letter dated January 29, 1911 from the <br />L.M.M. which contained a resolution endorsed by the League favoring <br />federal revenue sharing. Minnesota municipalities were urged to <br />approve the resolution. ' <br /> <br />Upon motion by Councilman Hollenhorst, seconded by Councilman Olmen, <br />the attached Resolution of Commitment was approved. MotJon carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Copies of the resolution are to be sent to Senator Ashbach, Repre- <br />sentatIve Anderson, Senator Humphrey, Senator Mondale and 4th <br />DIstrict Representative Joseph E. Karth. <br /> <br />Tax Abatement. Sewer 12-13 Lift Station Site <br />Letter dated January 29, 191i from Attorney Lynden was reviewed by <br />Attorney Courtney. Upon motion by Councilman Olmen, seconded by <br />Councilman Henderson, an appilcatlon (as attached) for abatement of <br />"""'texes for the year,,1911 -and subsequent years .on,.V,lllage owned pr.operty: <br />was approved by the Council. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Request for Contract Cost Adiustment - Sanitary Sewer 12-13 <br />M~~ W. Brown. representing McDonald and Associates, presented a letter, <br />dated January 29, 1971 (attached) which outlined .construction problems <br />on Sanitary Sewer Improvement 12-13. Mr. Brown. s,tated that the job <br />was bid for a winter project but because of delay by the Village in <br />obtaining easements or waIvers of trespass, the contractor was unabJe <br />to put all four labor crews to work as planned; <br /> <br />A map listing easement dates and showing lengths":of sewer lines in- <br />volved was presented. Two fact sheets" attached, de~alllng work dates, <br />labor wage rates and deiays caused by sewer line changes. augerlng and <br />easement problems was presented by Mr. Bownik. <br /> <br />-. <br /> <br />Letter from Contractor to the Village Council of February 25, 1970, In- <br />dicatIng the need for some urgency In obtaInIng easements was reviewed <br />by Mr. Brown. A request was made by Mr. Brown for an additional pay- <br />ment,of $20,34i .51 for increased labor costs, for one month's super- <br />vision fees and for the additional cost~ to the contractor for alIgn- <br />ment changes. <br /> <br />Attorney Courtney reviewed the existing contr.act for the project; stating <br />that It was executed by the Council on November 30, 1969. He Informed <br />the contractor th.t no Indication of any urgency in easement matters <br />was given by McDonald and Associates prior to their letter of February 25, <br />1970.
