<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> ~ STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> VILLAGE OF ARDEN HILL3 <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 96 <br /> AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE <br /> DTSCHARGE OF WEAPONS AND THE , <br /> USE OF OTHER DANGEROUS DE- <br /> VICES, REGi3LATING THE USE , <br /> THEREOF, PROVIDING FQR SPECIAL <br /> PERMITS IN SPECIFIED CASES, AND <br /> PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLA- <br /> TIONS. <br /> The Village Counci] of the Village of <br /> Arden Hilla doeg hereby ordain as fol- <br /> ]ows : <br /> Section 1. Aefinitiona. Deadly Weapons. <br /> The term "deadly weapone" as used here- <br /> in shall include the following: (1) all <br /> firearme; (2) bows and arrows when <br /> the arrows are pointed or tiPPed; (3) - <br /> " all instruments used to expell at high <br /> velocity any pellets of any kind, includ- <br /> ing, but not limited to, BB guns and air <br /> rifles; (4) sIfng shots; (5) meta] knuckl- - - . - , es; and (6) switchblade knivea, being <br /> knives with retractable blades. <br /> Section 2. ExcePt as herein specifically <br /> suthorized, the disehsrging or use of <br /> deadly weapons within the Village of <br /> Arden Hills is hereby prohibited. <br /> Section 3. The siming of any deadly <br /> weapon, whether loaded or not, at or - - towards any human being, is hereby pro- <br /> hibited. <br /> Section 4. The selling, givinS> loaning, <br /> or furniahing in any way of any deadiy <br /> weapon to a minor under the age of <br /> 18 yeara withbut the written consent of <br /> his parents or guardisn is hereby pro- <br /> hibited. <br /> Section 5. No minar under the age of <br /> 14 years shall handle or have in his <br /> possession o= under his control, excePt - <br /> wLile accompanied by or under the im- <br /> mediate charge of hia parent or guar- <br /> dian, any deadly weapon. <br /> Section 6. The nosaeasion by any per- <br /> sona other than a public officer of any <br /> , deadly weapon concealed on his or her <br /> person is hereby prahibited. <br /> Section 7. 7`he firing of a gun or use . <br /> ef other dexdly weapon in the lawful de- <br /> fense of the person, property or family of the user of said weapon is excepted <br /> from the prohibitions set 4orth in this ' <br /> Ordinance, and similarly, the firing of a <br /> gun or uae of other deadly weapons in <br /> the necessary enforcement of the law, <br /> whether by a police officer or a private <br /> individual, is also excepted from the pro- <br /> hibitions contained herein. <br /> Section S. The Village Council may <br /> pxomulgate regulations for the suitable <br /> ~ protection of Persona and property and, . <br /> subject to such regulations, the Council <br /> may issue speeial permits to du19-organ- <br /> ized clubs and their members for shoot- <br /> ing or the uae of the use of sir rifles <br /> or bow and arrows on landa owned or <br /> leased bg aueh clubs. Such permits shall <br /> be issued by the Village Clerk upon dir- <br /> ection of the Council, shall be in writing, <br /> and shall be valid only when in the pos- <br /> seasion of the peraon to whom isaued. <br /> Section 9. Any peraon violating any <br /> of the proviaiona of this Ordinance ahall <br /> be guilty of a miademeanor, and upon <br /> conviction thereaf shall be punished by <br /> a fine not exceeding $100.00 or imprison- <br /> ment in the county jail for a term not <br /> to exceed 90 days, <br /> Section 10. This Ordinance shall take <br /> effect and be in force from and after <br /> its passage and publication. <br /> Passed by the Council of Arden Hills " <br /> ~ thia 25th day of July> 1966. <br /> Robert E.
