<br />CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES <br />August 24, 2016 <br />6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City of Centerville held their regularly scheduled <br />meeting of August 24, 2016 at City Hall, 1880 Main Street. <br /> <br />PRESENT: <br /> Mayor Tom Wilharber <br />Council Member Jeff Paar <br /> Council Member Ben Fehrenbacher <br /> <br />Council Member Steve King <br /> Council Member D. Love <br /> <br /> <br />ABSENT: <br /> None. <br /> <br />STAFF: <br /> City Administrator Mike Ericson <br /> City Attorney Kurt Glaser <br /> City Engineer Mark Statz <br /> Finance Director Ellen Paulseth <br /> <br />I. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br /> <br />III. APPOINTMENTS/PRESENTATIONS <br /> <br />Administrator Ericson stated that Council identified in its 2016 City Focus Goals Economic <br />Development. Administrator Ericson stated that two (2) Hamline University graduate students <br />Brandon Bell & Andrew Gitzlaff would be presenting Council with a research Capstone project <br />“Review of Centerville’s EDA/EDC” with oversite by Dr. Craig Waldron, Hamline University <br />Public Administration Program Director. <br /> <br />Dr. Waldron introduced himself to Council and stated that he was the City Administrator for the <br />City of Oakdale for 21 years. He stated the importance of real life experiences for his students <br />and thanked Administrator Ericson and Council for the opportunity to review Centerville’s <br />existing EDA. <br /> <br />Mr. Brandon Bell introduced himself to Council along with Mr. Andrew Gitzlaff. Mr. Bell and <br />Mr. Gitzlaff reviewed the presented report with Council and stated they interviewed staff, current <br />Council Members and members of the business community. They researched numerous reports <br />and models from outside agencies (Met. Council, League of MN Cities, ULI, neighboring <br />communities and other economic development literature) to compile their statistics and make <br /> <br />
