CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES <br />May 24, 2017 <br />6:30 p.m. <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City of Centerville held their regularly scheduled <br />meeting of May 24, 2017 at City Hall, 1880 Main Street. <br />PRESENT: Mayor Jeff Paar <br />Council Member Russ Koski <br />Council Member D. CALL TO ORDER <br />Mayor Paar called to order 6:30 p.m. <br />II. APPOINTMENTS/PRESENTATIONS <br />1. Mr. Todd Steffen, Corner Express — Anoka County Outstanding Business <br />Recycling Award <br />Mr. Steffen was unavailable to attend and Mayor Paar read the Certificate to the <br />public. He thanked Mr. Steffen and his employees for their efforts and <br />congratulated them on their award. <br />2. Mr. Wayne Whitwam — Principal, Centerville Elementary School <br />Mayor Paar stated that he reached out the Mr. Whitwam and invited him to <br />Council to recap the 2017 school year. Mr. Whitwam introduced himself to <br />Council, stated that he received his five (5) year recognition pin, several other <br />members of Staff. <br />Mr. Whitwam stated that Ms. Michele McClellan, a 4th Grade teacher at <br />Centerville Elementary, was named Teacher of the Year, that the Elementary <br />School is offering a pilot AVID program to its students. The program is offered <br />to High School age students assisting them in college readiness and success will <br />
