The City of Centerville, in <br />cooperation with the Anoka County Housing and Redevelopment Authority <br />(HRA), began construction on "ChaunceyBarett Gardens," named for the <br />late Chauncey Barett. Barett owned the land on which the building will sit <br />Four generations of Barett family members attended the ground breaking <br />ceremony. along with interested seniors and officials from Anoka County <br />and the City of Centerville. <br />The complex will include one bedroom, one bedroom with den, and <br />two bedroom apartments as well as a community room for residents. Each <br />apartment comes complete with a stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, washer <br />and dryer, individuaJi7.ed gas heat, central air conditioning, window <br />coverings and a patio. Attached heated parking also will be available. <br />Market rate rents. start at $550 per month. The buil~g is expected to be <br />ready for occupancy in June 1998. <br />"This is the culmination of a dream for Centerville area senior <br />citizens,.. said Anoka County Commissioner Margaret Langfeld. "So many <br />people from both the City of Cen~e and Anoka County have long <br />recognized the need f9r quality senior housing and were determined to see <br />this project succeed.
