<br />Approved <br />CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION & COUNCIL MEETING <br />DECEMBER 8, 2021 <br />5:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City of Centerville held a City Council Work Session <br />& City Council Meeting on December 8, 2021 in Council Chambers at City Hall. <br /> <br />WORK SESSION <br /> <br />I. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor D. Love called the special meeting to order at 5:04 p.m. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> <br />PRESENT: Mayor D. Love <br />Council Member Russ Koski <br />Council Member Darrin Mosher <br />Council Member Steve King <br /> <br />ABSENT: Council Member Michelle Lakso <br /> <br />STAFF: City Administrator Mark Statz <br /> City Attorney Kurt Glaser <br /> <br />II. ITEMS OF DISCUSSION <br /> <br />1. Interview Candidate Jr. Council Member – Mr. Danny Peterson <br /> <br />Administrator Statz introduced Mr. Danny Peterson to Council. He stated he contacted the High <br />School Principal in regards to choosing a candidate for the Jr. Council Member position. He stated <br />that the Principal recommended Mr. Peterson provided that he met our requirements and <br />expectations. Administrator Statz stated that he met with Mr. Peterson and felt that he would meet <br />the City’s qualifications so he invited him to attend this evening’s meeting to introduce himself. <br /> <br />Mayor Love asked Mr. Peterson to come to the podium and introduce himself to Council. <br /> <br />Mr. Peterson stated that he lives in Centerville and is a junior at Centennial High School. He also <br />stated that he likes to watch basketball, hang with friends and is a big fan of Marvel films. He <br />mentioned that his taste in music varies from hip hop to R & B. Mayor Love and Council asked <br />him several questions as to why he wanted to be involved in City government and what he hoped <br />to gain from being a Jr. Council Member. Mr. Peterson stated he felt that it would be a great <br />opportunity to learn how City government works, be able to help make decisions on behalf of <br />Centerville and give a younger view point. <br /> <br />A lengthy discussion ensued. Mayor Love stated that he did very well and thanked him for <br />attending and his desire to participate in the City’s program. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
