<br />Approved <br /> <br />CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION AND MEETING <br />MAY 24, 2023 <br />5:00 & 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City of Centerville held their regularly scheduled City Council <br />Work Session & Meeting on May 24, 2023 in Council Chamber of City Hall and the Regular Council <br />meeting was live streamed by North Metro TV at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />WORK SESSION MEETING <br />I. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor D. Love called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> <br />PRESENT: Mayor D. Love <br />Council Member Russ Koski <br />Council Member Darrin Mosher <br />Council Member Steve King (Arrived at 5:01 p.m.) <br />Council Member Raye Taylor <br />Junior Council Member Rowan Shaw (Non-Voting) <br /> <br />ABSENT: None. <br /> <br />STAFF: City Administrator, Mark Statz <br />Assistant City Administrator, Athanasia Lewis <br /> <br /> <br />II. ITEMS OF DISCUSSION <br /> <br />1. Mock Emergency Exercise <br /> <br />Centennial Fire District Battalion Chief, Matt Montain and Centennial Lakes Police Chief James Mork <br />both appeared by Council to discuss policies and procedures surrounding emergencies. They both spoke <br />about their rolls along with Council’s and City Staff. They both stated that there are numerous agencies <br />that are worked with during emergencies (i.e. Metropolitan Transit, Red Cross, mutual aid between the <br />Fire and Police Department organizations, etc.) <br /> <br />2. Active Shooter <br /> <br />Centennial Lakes Police Department, Sergeant, Brian Goetzke, provided a presentation and brief review <br />of statistics, safety, and preparedness in such incidences. <br /> <br />Administrator Statz briefly discussed the procedures for City Hall and the importance of early detection. <br /> <br />III. ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Mayor Love closed the Work Session at 6:26 p.m. <br /> <br />
