<br />CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />MONDAY, DECEMBER 21, 1998 <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City Council of the City of Centerville held their <br />regularly scheduled Council meeting on Monday, December 21, 1998 at City Hall, 1880 Main <br />Street. Furthermore, the levy amounts of; $665,355, $760,000, $785,000 and <br />$850,000 and tax rates; .4091, .48,4988. 5475, respectively, could be the levied amount against <br />each property. Based on the taxable market values, a $75,000 house will be tax approximately <br />$100 per year. The Council discussed the cost associated to replace the snow plow and the '87 <br />street bond payment of approximately $56,000, and the bond expiration of February 1,2003. <br /> <br />Councilmember Buckbee questioned the projected Public Works Department budget surplus and <br />its distribution. Mayor Wilharber added that Public Works is in such an antiquated building that <br />the City should consider improving its facility. Mayor Wilharber commented with the possibilities <br />of levy limits the City may be restricted to purchasing a Public Works building. Councilmember <br />Buckbee suggested the Council-Elect consider exploring the public works building budget surplus <br />and allocating those funds appropriately. <br /> <br />APPEARANCES <br /> <br />Mr. Tony Palumbo (Assistant County Attorney) <br />Mr. Tony Palumbo explained in detail the joint law enforcement records project between the <br />County and its cities.
