<br />EXTRACT OF MWUTES OF MEETING OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the <br />City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota, was duly called held at the City Hall on <br />Tuesday, the 23rd day of June, 1997 at 6:30 P.M. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Wall, Goedeke, Maschka, Mastel, and Wiski <br />and the following were absent: None <br /> <br />Council Member Wiski introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 9416 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION GRANTING A VARIANCE AT <br />2125 HAMLlNE AVENUE N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 1004.020 of the Roseville City Code requires a front yard <br />setback of no less than 30 feet, a side yard setback of no less than 10 feet, and a rear yard <br />setback of no less than 30 feet in an R-1 Single Family Residential District; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the existing house at 2125 Hamline Avenue N is set back 11 feet from <br />the north property line along Burke Avenue W; the residential structure was constructed <br />in 1927 and the current front yard setback requirement was adopted in 1959; and the <br />construction of Burke Avenue W in the late 1950s resulted in this dwelling being classified <br />as a non-conforming; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Paul and Angela Dunn have requested a variance to reduce the front <br />yard setback along Burke Avenue W to 11 feet for the purpose of constructing an addition <br />to a nonconforming single family residential structure at 2125 Hamline Avenue; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, because the structure does not meet the required 30 foot front yard <br />setback, it is classified as a nonconforming structure; Section 1011.02, City Code, does <br />not allow the expansion of a non-conforming structure; for this reason, a variance is <br />needed in order to remove the nonconforming status of the building and allow the property <br />to be improved; and a variance to reduce the front yard setback along Burke Avenue W <br />will bring the structure into conformance with current requirements. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Roseville Planning Commission conducted a public hearing on the <br />request on Wednesday, June 11, 1997, and recommended approval of the requested <br />variance subject to one condition; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Roseville City Council received the Planning Commission's <br />recommendation on Monday, June 23, 1997, and <br /> <br />Resolution 9416 - Page 1 of 3 <br />
