We'll listen! <br />That's how City officials are describing Vista 2��0, a citizen <br />based planning process that will kickoff in Roseville with city- <br />wide forums on Wednesday, July 29 and Thursday, July 30. <br />"The people af Roseville have a unique opportunity to shape the <br />direction of local government well into the 21st Century during <br />the Vista 2000 process," said Roseville Mayor Vern Johnsan. <br />"Everyone interested in the future of Rvseville is welcome and <br />needed. This is far too impartant to leave to someone else," he <br />emphasized. <br />Here is how Vista 2000 will work. <br />The forums will start with keynote comments from former St. Paul <br />Mayor George Latimer and noted lacal pollster Bi11 Marris. Parti- <br />cipants will then work tagether with a moderator to identify key <br />issues facing the cominunity. <br />Following the forums, citizen study groups will meet on a regular <br />basis to evaluate different ways to approach the challenges before <br />the community ar�d recommend a plan of action. Each study group's <br />plan will then be melded into a comprehensive blueprint for <br />Roseville's future. <br />"Yau can't take a long trip without a road map," said former <br />Roseville Mayor �ale Linebarger in regard to the Vista 2000 <br />program. "If we're going to protect the good lzfe we enjoy today <br />in Roseville, we have to start with a plan now.
