<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES <br />OF MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />OFTHE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of <br />Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota, was duly held on the 25th day of October 1999, at 6:30 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Wiski, Maschka, Mastel, Goedeke, Wall <br />and the following were absent: None <br /> <br />Council Member Wiski introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> <br />Resolution No. 9702 <br />Resolution Approving a Front Yard Setback Variance <br />at 1810 Alta Vista Drive <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 1004.02D of the Roseville Zoning Ordinance requires a structures to <br />have a minimum front yard setback of 30 feet from property line; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the existing home was constructed in 1941 and lies 14.5 feet from the property <br />line adjacent Alta Vista Drive; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Roseville has determined that the home due to its placement on <br />the property (1810 Alta Vista Drive) is considered a corner side yard and corner side yards have <br />the same 30 setback requirement from property line as do front yard setbacks; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Nayada El-Mandi and William Kinnunen, property owners of 1810 Alta Vista <br />Drive, have requested a variance from the 30 foot front yard setback requirements to allow the <br />construction of a porch onto the west and south side of their home; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the porch addition would encroach to a point eight (8) feet six (6) inches from <br />the property line adjacent to Alta Vista Drive; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the variance will create a structure that is conforming to the Roseville City <br />Code and allow EI-Afandi and Kinnunen to construct a second story above the existing house <br />without other special or variance approvals; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Roseville Planning Commission conducted a public hearing on the request <br />on Wednesday, October 13, 1999, and recommended (7-0) approval of the requested variance; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Roseville City Council received the Planning Commission's <br />recommendation on Monday, October 25, 1999; and <br /> <br />Page lof3 <br />
