Call to Order <br />1 <br />Chair Boguszewski called to order the Variance Board meeting at approximately 5:30 p.m. and <br />2 <br />reviewed the role and purpose of the Variance Board. <br />3 <br />2. Roll Call & Introductions <br />4 <br />At the request of Chair Boguszewski, City Planner Thomas Paschke called the Roll. <br />5 <br />Members Present: <br />Chair Michael Boguszewski; and Commissioners Robert Murphy and <br />6 <br />Shannon Cunningham <br />7 <br />Others Present: <br />Alternate Variance Board Member James Daire <br />8 <br />Staff Present: <br /> Community Development Director Paul Bilotta, City Planner Thomas <br />9 <br />Paschke, and Senior Planner Bryan Lloyd <br />10 <br />3. Review of Minutes <br />11 <br />MOTION <br />12 <br />Member Murphy moved, seconded by Member Cunningham to approve meeting minutes <br />13 <br />of January 7, 2015 as presented. <br />14 <br />Ayes: 3 <br />15 <br />Nays: 0 <br />16 <br />Motion carried. <br />17 <br />4. Public Hearing <br />18 <br />PLANNING FILE No. 15-003 <br />19 <br />Request by St. Rose of Lima, 2048 Hamline Avenue, for a VARIANCE from Roseville City <br />20 <br />Code, Section 1010.07.A3 (size) and A4 (duration) to allow the temporary installation of a <br />21 <br />th <br />75 Anniversary event sign on the front and rear of the school building; legal description <br />22 <br />on file in the Community Development Department <br />23 <br />Chair Boguszewski opened the Public Hearing for Planning File 15-003 at 5:31 p.m. <br />24 <br />City Planner Thomas Paschke summarized the request and staff’s analysis as detailed in the staff <br />25 <br />report dated April 1, 2015, and advised that staff supported approval of the variance request as <br />26 <br />indicated and conditioned in page 4, lines 90-97 of the staff report. <br />27 <br />Chair Boguszewski thanked Mr. Paschke for his presentation; and stated that his initial concerns <br />28 <br />on size and potential distractions for the sign had been addressed by Mr. Paschke. <br />29 <br />Applicant Representative John Adams <br />30 <br />Mr. Adams thanked Mr. Paschke and staff for their assistance with this application; noting the <br />31 <br />only change he’d request beyond Mr. Paschke’s presentation would be to ask for lenience on the <br />32 <br />removal date from Sunday, September 30 to Tuesday, September 22, 2015. Mr. Adams noted <br />33 <br />removal of the signs would require lifts and therefore, he would prefer a weekday versus a <br />34 <br />weekend. <br />35 <br />Chair Boguszewski closed Public Hearing at 5:40 p.m.; no one spoke for or against. <br />36 <br /> <br />
