<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of <br />Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota, was held on the 29th day of March, at 6:00 p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Ihlan, Kough, Maschka, Schroeder, Klausing <br /> <br />and the following were absent: None <br /> <br />Council Member Maschka introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 10212 <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING A VARIANCE TO SECTION 1004.01A7 (LOCATION) <br />AND A 3 FOOT VARIANCE TO SECTION 1004.02D5 (DWELLING DIMENSIONS - <br />SIDE YARD SETBACK) OF THE ROSEVILLE CITY CODE <br />FOR 2940 OLD HIGHWAY 8 (PF3549). <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Chris & Noelle Olson have requested a VARIANCE to Section 1007.01A7 <br />(Location) of the Roseville City Code to allow the construction of a detached accessory building <br />in the front yard of their parcel; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Olson home is 2940 Old Highway 8, and legally described as: <br /> <br />Lot 1, Block 1, Marinelli Addition <br />PIN: 05-29-23-23-0055 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 1004.01A7 (Location) reads: "No accessory building or garden shed <br />shall be erected or located within any front yard. Accessory buildings and/or garden shed shall <br />be located behind the front building line of the principal structure. On through lots, lakeshore <br />lots, accessory buildings and/or garden shed may be located between the road right-of-way line <br />and the principal structure, provided they meet the required front yard setback of 30 feet"; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the proposal by Mr. Olson, to construct a detached 980 sq. ft. accessory <br />building (garage) in the front yard, would place the structure approximately 12 feet from his <br />front property line; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Planner has recommended that the accessory building have a <br />minimum front yard setback of 30 feet; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 1004.01A8 (Minimum Setback) reads: "A garden shed and/or <br />accessory buildings shall be set back a minimum of 5 feet from a side or rear yard lot line and a <br />minimum of 6 feet from any other building on the same lot or parcel"; and <br /> <br />1 <br />
