Human Rights Commission <br />Human Rights Minutes <br />February 24, 2016 6:00 p.m. <br />Commissioners: Chair Wayne Groff, Molli Slade, Arlene Christiansen, and Lisa <br />Carey <br />Youth Commissioners: Gabriel Cederberg <br />Commissioners Absent: None <br />Staff Present: Kari Collins <br />Call to Order <br />The Human Rights Commission (HRC) meeting was called to order at 6:06 p.m. <br />Chair Groff requested roll call. <br />Approve Apenda <br />Chair Groff stated they would move the presentation from Advocates for Human <br />Rights once they were prepared. <br />Commissioner Slade moved and Commissioner Christiansen seconded a <br />motion to approve the agenda as amended. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Approve Minutes of ]anuary Meeting <br />Commissioner Christiansen stated in line 85 the word ��ad" should be changed to <br />"and", line 234 change "has" to "have", line 235 change'�space" to "distance", line <br />270 change ��things" to ��projects", line 302 change "Anderson" to "Andersen" and <br />line 336 change ��," to'�." <br />Youth Commissioner Cederberg stated in line 335 change "College Admissions" to <br />'�Admission Committees" and line 160 change "suggested" to "suggestion". <br />Commissioner Slade stated in line 363 the short presentation would be at a future <br />meeting not the Essay Contest Award Ceremony. <br />Commissioner Slade moved and Commissioner Christiansen seconded a <br />motion to approve the 7anuary 20, 2016 meeting minutes as amended. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />Public Comment on Items Not on Aqenda <br />Mr. Gary Greffenberg stated as a citizen of Roseville he wanted to make the <br />Commission aware of private conversations and comments in public forums that <br />concerned him. During discussions on a project that would bring market rate and <br />subsidized housing to Roseville there were those that advocated against this <br />because, in his view, these people did not want subsidized rental homes in their <br />neighborhoods. The Human Rights laws prohibit discrimination based on public <br />assistance. He pointed out that these comments had not been articulated from the <br />podium or those members of the group working on the project. <br />
