PLANNING FILE 16-011 <br />24 <br />Request by Chris and Tara Anderson for a VARIANCE to Roseville City Code, <br />25 <br />Section 1004, Table 1004-1 (Front Yard Setback) to allow construction of a storage <br />26 <br />shed in the front yard of the property at 2040 Irene Street, legal description on file <br />27 <br />in the Community Development Department. <br />28 <br />Chair Murphy opened the Public Hearing for Planning File 16-011 at 5:35 p.m. <br />29 <br />City Planner Thomas Paschke briefly reviewed the applicant’s request and staff’s <br />30 <br />analysis as detailed in the staff report and related attachments dated May 4, 2016. <br />31 <br />As detailed in the staff report, Mr. Paschke noted that this is a unique property, originally <br />32 <br />built upon in 1959; and as noted in the applicant’s narrative, addressed the former <br />33 <br />location of the shed destroyed by a storm in 2015, with staff and the applicant working <br />34 <br />over the last number of months on an reasonable alternate location for the shed given the <br />35 <br />unique and challenging topography and shape of this site. <br />36 <br />Mr. Paschke noted the conditions recommended by staff for approval, addressed in lines <br />37 <br />108 – 113 of the staff report. <br />38 <br />Member Daire referenced the site visits by staff for Ms. Anderson’s narrative, and in his <br />39 <br />personal experience in working with staff at his residence, noted his favorable impression <br />40 <br />with the amount of time city staff was willing to spend to contribute to Roseville projects, <br />41 <br />whether large or small, and on behalf of the city and applicants. <br />42 <br />Member Gitzen noted that Condition “A” indicated location and confirmation of the front <br />43 <br />property lot corners by staff; and questioned if it may be more appropriate to have <br />44 <br /> <br />
