<br />ROSEVILLE PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />DRAFT MEETING MINUTES FOR <br />April 4, 20176:30pm <br />PRESENT: <br />Bole, Baggenstoss, Gelbach,Heikkila, Hoag,Newby, O’Brien, Stoner, Warzecha <br />ABSENT: <br />STAFF: <br />Brokke,Christensen, McDonagh <br />INTRODUCTIONS <br />1. <br />ROLL CALL/PUBLIC COMMENT <br />2. <br />No public in attendance. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES –March7,2017MEETING <br />3. <br />Commissioner Bolemovedto approve the March7, 2017 meeting minutes. Commissioner Warzecha <br />seconds. Motion passedunanimously. <br />INTRODUCTION AND OATH OF OFFICE FOR NEW COMMISSIONER <br />4. <br />The Oath of Office was completed byCommission Chair Gelbach fornew Commission members Greg <br />Hoag and Darrell Baggenstoss. <br />Each of the current Commission members introduced themselves and welcomedthe new members. <br />CEDARHOLM GOLF COURSE CLUBHOUSEREPLACEMENT REVIEW <br />5. <br />Director Brokke provided an updateon the work that has been completed on the Clubhouse replacement. <br />The March 20, 2017 City Council meetingprovideddirectionto pursue the 5,000 sq. ft. facility,not include <br />the maintenance facilityatthis timeandno longer considerthe Historical Society asapart of this project. <br />The larger 5,000 sq. ft. facility will also serve as aCommunity Building providing seatingspace forup to <br />100 people. <br />The City Council was interested in firm numbersrather thanarchitect’sassessmentsand requested a <br />proposal for plans and specifications.Staff is expecting a proposal fromHagen, Christensen & McIlwain <br />Architects(HCM)to bring back to the City Council on April 10, 2017. <br />Commissioner Bole inquired aboutthe timing of the project. Brokke confirmed that the goal is notto <br />interfere with the golf season. A potential schedule for the project would include: <br />Finalize site location <br />o <br />Finalize building images <br />o <br />Plans and specifications –completed by June <br />o <br />Request for Proposals (RFP)–June/July <br />o <br />Proposal considerations –August <br />o <br />Building begins –September <br />o <br />Cart storage would be added nearthe current maintenance building. The new cart storageareawould consist <br />ofspace for up to 20 carts with aroof and decorative fencing thatissecure. <br />Commissioner Heikkila questioned the lack of a pro shopin the new building. Golf Superintendent <br />McDonagh confirmed that there wouldbe asmallarea wheresellingofgolf essentialswould occur. <br />Commissioner Stoner requestedafurther explanation ofthe budget. Staff responded that based on the <br />architects estimateand using comparablefacilities,the market square footagesrangebetween$380-$420 <br /> <br />
