<br /> <br />Human Rights Commission Meeting Minutes <br />March 29, 2017 <br /> <br />Commissioners: Chair Wayne Groff, Molli Slade, John Eichenlaub, Nicole Dailey, <br />Lauren Peterson, and Lisa Carey <br />Youth Commissioners: Elizabeth Hansel <br />Commissioners Absent: Commissioner Edward Johnson and Youth Commissioner <br />Gabriel Cederberg <br />Staff Present: Carolyn Curti <br /> <br />Call to Order/Roll Call <br /> <br />The Human Rights Commission (HRC) meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. Chair <br />Groff requested roll call. <br /> <br />Approve Agenda <br /> <br />Commissioner Slade moved and Commissioner Peterson seconded a motion to <br />approve the agenda as presented. Motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Approve Minutes of February 15, 2017 Meeting <br /> <br />Youth Commissioner Hansel stated on line 25 the date should be changed to January <br />18, 2017. <br /> <br />Chair Groff stated in line 47 insert “at” prior to “as”, line 55 change “here” to “three”, <br />line 60 change “thought” to “though”. <br /> <br />Commissioner Eichenlaub moved and Commissioner Peterson seconded a motion to <br />approve the February 15, 2017 meeting minutes as amended. Motion passed <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Public Comment on Items Not on Agenda <br /> <br />There being no one wishing to address the Commission on items not on the agenda, <br />Chair Groff moved to the next item on the agenda. <br /> <br />Old Business <br /> <br />a.Update on Subcommittee to combine Human Rights Commission and <br /> <br />Community Engagement Commission <br /> <br />Commissioner Peterson stated the subcommittee would be meeting on March 30. <br /> <br />Commissioner Carey stated the HRC would need to have clear direction on what they <br />are tasked with doing as a whole. <br /> <br />Chair Groff asked Commissioner Peterson to let the subcommittee know that the <br />Commission had reviewed and updated the Commission goals and objectives. He <br />also stressed that Human Rights should be part of the title for the new Commission. <br />He pointed out that there had been 11 applicants for the open Human Rights <br />Commission seats. <br /> <br />
