<br />ROSEVILLE PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />MEETING MINUTES FOR SPECIAL MEETING <br />July12, 20186:30pm <br />PRESENT:Baggenstoss, Bole,Gelbach,Hoag,Newby,O’Brien,Stoner,Warzecha <br />ABSENT:Heikkila, Quick <br />STAFF:Brokke <br />1)INTRODUCTIONS <br />2)ROLL CALL/PUBLIC COMMENT <br />3)PARK DEDICATION –MIDLAND CREST (2237 WEST CLEVELAND DR.) <br />Staff relayed that tonight’sspecial meeting of the Parks and Recreation Commission was <br />calledin order to discuss and make a recommendation on a time sensitive Park Dedication <br />proposalat 2237 West Cleveland Drive. <br />Staff provided an overview of the property, its location and the specific proposal.The <br />proposed development would combine threeexisting parcelsinto a fivelot subdivision with <br />an out lotin the rear to help capture storm water. <br />Staff refreshed the Commission on the various strategies outlined in the Park and Recreation <br />System Master Plan(Master Plan)to enhance Parks andRecreation opportunities in SW <br />Roseville. <br />ThePark Dedication cash amount would be $8,000 andthe land amount would be.21 acres. <br />As a size comparison reference, the parcel purchased for parklandatthe corner of Cleveland <br />and County Rd. B is .79 acres. <br />The Commissiondiscussed the option for land, including thepotential limited use of a .21 <br />sized parkand the difficulty in reaching that specificarea ofSW Roseville. <br />ChairO’Brien asked if any discussions regarding Park Dedicationland hadhappened with <br />the developer.Staff responded that it was mentionedthat they may not be able to move <br />forward with the development if the land option is exercised. <br />The Commission discussed the need to be very mindful on these types of opportunities and <br />thoroughly considerthe overall benefits to the park system but not to just accept anything in <br />order to satisfy the general lack of Park and Recreation opportunities identified in the Master <br />Plan. <br /> <br />
