<br />283 <br /> <br />VILLAGE COUNCIL OF ROSEVILLZ <br />}~eeting, January 20, 1953 at 2:00 P.M. <br /> <br />The Village C01IDCil met on the above date with the following members present: <br />Carlson, Ylillmus, Hembrez, Connor and Hromnersten. Ira Karon, Village Attorney, <br />and Milner Carley, Village Engineer, were also present. <br /> <br />Hembrez tloved, Willmus seconded, that reading of minutes be waived and <br />approved according to copies furnished each member of the Council. Roll call <br />Ayes-( ~) Nayes-( 0). <br /> <br />The Clerk read petition of John Bouthilet for rezoning "The East 297 feet <br />of the West 330 feet of the South 280 feet of the North i of the Southwest i <br />of the Southwest ~ of Section 14, Town 29, Range 2~t at Lexington and Dionne st. <br />C<ilrley reported on the drainage problem that may be creat.ed on the property. <br />The water flows to the low spot on Lexington and Dionne, then it should go down <br />to Lexington thence to county ditch. A ditch should be started that will carry <br />the water over to Laxpenteur Ave. area. <br /> <br />Membrez moved, seconded by Ha¡;¡mersten, that the hearing be continued to <br />February 17th in order for the Zóning,Boárd , to conduct hearings. Roll call <br />Ayes-(5) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />Membrez moved, seconded by Carlson, that petition on hearing for Charles <br />Krause be accepted and a public l;1earing be held on February 17 at 2:00 P.M. providing <br />Roll call ~Tes-(5) Nayes-(O). ho secures the re~lired number of signatures. <br /> <br />Mr. Lindstrom of the page and Hill homes appeared before the Council for <br />our ffilswer on the flat way construction of 2 x 4s. After some discussion on the <br />matter, it was suggested that we amend the ordinanc" to control such construction. <br /> <br />Membrez moved, Connor seconded, that the attorney draw up <'..n ordirwnce <br />amending the ordinance governing the construction of walls. Hall call ~res-( ~) <br />Nayes-( 0). <br /> <br />Karon suggested we ought to take a special censu~ so we may receive more <br />money from liquor and cigarette tax. There are two ways it could be handled anò he <br />would check on it and report later. <br /> <br />The financial report was gone over by the members of the Council. Several <br />questions were asked about various items such as liquor account and fire maintenance <br />funds. Membrez moved, seconded by Willmus, that the report be accepted and copy <br />sent to the Public Examiner. Roll call Ayes-(5) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />It was suggested that the Clerk find out from Taylor & McCaskill the cost <br />of making an audit of the Clerk's and Treasurerts books Rnd to get a report on <br />the cost of the quarterly report they are to prepare for us on liquor store~. <br /> <br />A lett.er received from Barnes-Mattison, Inc. was read by the Clerk inquirir¡.g <br />about some property, they are negotiating for. The propert;r is zoned for business. <br />The Clerk was asked to answer the letter and tell them the amount of property that <br />is now re-zoned and suggest that if they need more they should petition for the <br />re~oning of additional land needed. <br /> <br />Ordinance No. lh7, amending Ordinance No. 100 governing tra:ners WaS read <br />b~T the Clerk - meaning everyone must submit an applieation in writing to park a <br />trailer for more than two weeks. HamLlersten moved, seconded by Membrez, that <br />Ordinance No. 147 be adopted. Roll call Ayes-(5) Nayes-(O). <br />
