<br />VIL11GE COUNCIL OF ROSEVILLE <br />Regular Meeting Tuesday, January 19, 1954, at 2:00 P.Me <br /> <br />The Village Council met øn the above date with the following members <br />present: Olson, Carlson, Willmus, Salverda, Hammersten, Milner Carley, <br />Village Engineer, and Ira Karon, Village Attorney, were also present. <br /> <br />Olsen moved, Carlson seconded, that the minutes of the last meeting be <br />approved as they appeared on the copies previously furnished the members. <br />Roll call Ayes-(5) Nayes....( 0). <br /> <br />Clerk read petition t. rezone Windorfer Property, 3098 N. Hamline Avenue, <br />from Class A Residence to Business District. He also read recommendation <br />of the Zoning Board that the rezoning be granted. There was no opposition <br />to the petition. <br /> <br />Dr. Windorfer appeared before the Council stating he had been granted a <br />five year pennit and wants the property permanently rezoned to a <br />Business District. <br /> <br />Hammersten moved, Carlson seconded, that 3098 N. Hamline Avenue, Lot 18, <br />Hackney Park, be rezoned to a Business District. Roll call Ayesw(5) <br />Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />Mayor Olson stated "I was elected by all the people. Certain parties <br />believe they have elected a stooge and that is something I will not stand <br />for. No matter where the chips fall, I will go right down the line. If <br />you want a steoge, put up your hand or if you want somebody to represent <br />all the people, put up yaur hand." <br /> <br />Mr. Klohn, 1954 Malvern, appeared before the Council in regard to the <br />separation of Garcelon's Addition from Roseville in order to annex to <br />Lauderdale. He presented an Ordinance written up by Lauderdale and also <br />the Ordinance #170 written by Roseville. <br /> <br />The Clerk read both Ordinances. <br /> <br />Carlson moved, Olson seconded, that Ordinance #178 be adopted. Roll call <br />~eSM(3 ) Nayes-( 2) Hammersten and WillnlUs "No". <br /> <br />Clerk read Ordinance #179 covering double fees for gas installer <br />violations amending Ordinance #163. <br /> <br />Hammersten moved, Olson seconded, that Ordinance #179 be adoptect. Roll <br />call ~eS8(5) Nayes-(O). <br /> <br />Clerk read petition from Zittel & Maher to change following described <br />property at S.W. Corner Rice & Co. Rd. B., from Farm Residence to <br />Business District. <br />Lot 1, except the West 288 feet of the North 150 feet thereof <br />and except the South 240 feet of said lot of Thornton's Subdivision <br />of the Northeast one quarter (t) of Section 13, :t'oWrls1:ï1p':29, ~;~ang@ 23 <br />Subject to the rights acquired by the State of Minnesota for the <br />widening of Rice Street and according to the map or plat thereof <br />on file and of record in the office of the Register of Deeds of <br />Ramsey County, Mînnesota <br /> <br />Willmus moved, Olson seconded, that we accept the petition and set <br />public hearing for February 2, 1954, at 2:00 P.M.
