VILLAGE COUNCIL OF ROSEVILLE Regular meeting Tuesday, February 16 at 2:00 P.M. The Village Council met on the above date with the following members present: Carlson, Olson, Salverda and Hammersten. Milner Carley, Village Engineer and B.J. Loftsgaarden, Village Attorney were also present. Olson moved, Carlson seconded that the minutes of the last meeting's be accepted as they appeared on the copies furnished the members of the Council. Ayes-(4) Nayes-(O). Olson moved" Carls on seconded to amend the minutem. of the February 9th meeting pertaining to the ~rages of the liquor store employee I s. It was suggested that the raise in wages go into effect February~. Roll Call Ayes-(4) Nayes-(O). Mr. Francis, a garbage and rubbish collector, asked the Council to consider giving him a temporary permit. He reported that his customers have paid him till the first of May and he wanted to carry out his part of the bargain. His territory covers Snelling to Victoria toward Larpenteur. The Council agreed that if the man assigned that territory would be agreeable, a permit would be granted since this was an exception to the case. Olson moved, Carlson seconded that a temporary penait for 30 days be issued. AJ~s-(4) Nayes-(O). Ed. Salverda, Village Electrical Inspector" reported that there is a man doing work in the Village who is not licensed. His electrical work does not come up to the Village standar~ so therefore, he is breaking the wiring code. B.J. Loftsgaarden, attorney, said that the Councilor an;y individual are 'VT ithin their rights to file charges against this man. Olson moved, Hammersten seconded that the Council give Salverda full cooperation in this matter. Roll Call Ayes-(4) Nayes-(O). Dan Gebhardt, representing electrical contractors in St. Paul recommended that Roseville adopt a more stringent code in electrical installations. He recommended that we use all steel installations, which would be far cheaper and far superior to what we do have. }~. Olson suggested that a meeting could be called at somA other time so that we could go further into the subject, on whether we wanted to adopt such a code. The Clerk read a letter from W.E. Haveland pertaining to "Ppointing local assessor, asking for someone with experience. Hammersten moved, Olson seconde~ that Ted Schultz be re-appointed assessor.
