Roll Call <br /> Mayor Roe called the meeting to order at approximately 6:00 p.m. Voting and Seating <br /> Order: Etten, Groff, Strahan, and Roe. City Manager Patrick Trudgeon and City Attorney <br /> Rachel Tierney were also present. Councilmember Schroeder was absent. <br /> 2. Pledge of Allegiance <br /> 3. Approve Agenda <br /> Groff moved, Etten seconded, approval of the agenda as presented. <br /> Roll Call <br /> Ayes: Etten, Groff, Strahan, and Roe. <br /> Nays: None. <br /> 4. Public Comment <br /> Mayor Roe called for public comment by members of the audience on any non-agenda <br /> items. <br /> Roger Hess,Wagener Place <br /> Mr. Roger Hess, Wagener Place, indicated after looking over the City's inclusion and <br /> respect statement and looking at other local ones, it seems like the City is missing three <br /> important categories of discrimination. He stated the three are gender identity, home or <br /> first language, and physical appearance. He hoped that sometime the Council might have <br /> some discussion about adding those to the statement. He explained when he went to the <br /> Juneteenth Celebration last year, he found it odd that he could not find there any mention <br /> of all the hundreds of thousands of people who fought and died to end slavery and he <br /> thought it would be nice to have something, even just mentioning it somewhere. He stated <br /> Juneteenth would not have happened if it were not for these people and most were <br /> volunteers and in Minnesota,half of the eligible male population went there to fight, even <br /> the members of the black community went to fight, one hundred black men went to fight <br /> and at the time there were only 259 black people living in Minnesota. <br /> 5. Recognitions,Donations, and Communications <br /> a. LGBTQIA+Pride Month Proclamation <br /> Mayor Roe read the LGBTQIA+Pride Month Proclamation. <br /> Groff moved, Etten seconded, proclaiming June 2023 LGBTQIA+Pride Month. <br />
