<br />VILLAGE OF ROSEVILIE <br />Regular meeting of the Village Council, Tuesday Feb. 7, 1956 2 p.m. <br /> <br />The Village Council met on the above date with the following members <br />present: Salverda, Carlson, Kitts, McGee and Ha.mmersten. Robert Gearin, <br />attorney; and Milner Carley, Engineer, were also present. <br /> <br />Hammersten moved, Carlson seconded the minutes of the Jan. 17th meeting <br />be approved with corrections. Roll Call Ayes (5)-Nayea (0). <br /> <br />Mayor Kitts appointed McGee to check on price and availability of a tape <br />recorder to be used at Council meetings to record proceedings of the <br />meetings. <br /> <br />Mr. McGee reported that one evening when he was in the fire station a <br />fireman, Mr. Bahnemann, was washing his car in the fire station. He was <br />asked if he knew it was against the Village policy to do this and he <br />said he did not. Fire Chief Herb Lynch stated that after he talked to <br />Mr. Kitts about this matter shortly after the Jan. 17th meeting, he <br />understood that some change would be made for the fire dept. Kitas said <br />that he made no statement to that effect. <br />Mayor Kitts instructed the clerk to prepare a statement from the minutes <br />of the Jan. 17th meeting which prohibited the storing of vehicles in <br />the municipal building other than those owned by the village. This <br />statement is to be signed by employees of the village and one copy is to <br />be posted in the fire station and one placed on file. <br /> <br />A letter ~s read. from the Chief of the Mpls, Fire Dept., R. C . Malmquist , <br />announcing the National Convention of Fire Dept. instructors to be held <br />in Memphis, Tenn. Feb. 21 thru Feb. 23. <br />Carlson moved, Hammersten seconded to send Fire Chief Herb Lynch to the <br />Convention at Memphis, Tenn. Roll Call Ayes (5)-Nayes (0). <br /> <br />Fire Chief Herb Lynch asked the council for authorization to purchase <br />equipment for the new fire truck. He was asked to list just the emergency <br />equipment needed and subnit it later in the meeting. <br />McGee moved, Salverda seconded the clerk be instructed to get a cemparison <br />of prices and more information about the extra equipment and report back <br />at the next meeting. Roll Call Ayes (5)-Naye5 (0). <br /> <br />John Daubney cited a future traffic problem at TH 36 and Snelling Ave. <br />that will occur when. the cloverleaf is built. The prQblem he cited is <br />that the Highway Dept. will not allow a private roadway access onto <br />TB36 but they have indicated they would allow a public roadway, to have <br />access. There is an easement for the continuation of Pascal Ave. at this <br />point so some provision would have to be made to have this proposed <br />roadway dedicated to the Village. <br />HàGee moved, Salverda seconded the matter be referred to the Engineer, <br />Attorney, and the Planning Comm.ission for further study and report back <br />at the first meeting in March.
