<br />VILLAGE OF ROSEVILIE <br />Regular meeting of the Village Council Tues. Eve. Feb. 14th, 1956 8 p.m. <br /> <br />The Village Council met on the above date with the following members present: <br />Salverda, Carlson, Kitts, McGee and Hammersten. Robert Gearin - Attorney; <br />and Milner Carley, Engineer; were also present. ' <br /> <br />HAHMERSTEN 1-10VED, SALVERDA. SECONDED the minutes of the Feb. 7th meeting be <br />approved with corrections. Roll Call Ayes (5)-Nayes (0). <br /> <br />The clerk read a resolution from the Dept. of Civil Defense in regard to the <br />upcoming Survival Plan Project which is a Civil Defense Study for the pro- <br />tection of the people living in the metropolitan area. The re.olution asked <br />for the cooperation of the Villagl of Roseville in this Survival Plan Pro,iect. <br />HAMl'1ERSTEN MOVED, CARLSON SECONDED to adopt the resolution from the Ci vii' <br />Defense. Roll Call (5)-Nayes (0). <br /> <br />minute, <br /> <br />Civil <br />Defensl <br /> <br />The Wolfgram Insurance Agency presented an app.np.àal of the Insurance Analysis <br />for the Village by the Ochs Ins. Agency, aleJll; ¡with a quotation of prices <br />for insurance that will be expiring shortly. ins. <br />¥CGEE MOVED, HAMMERSTEN SECONDED the clerk be instructed to check with sev- <br />eral insurance companies in regard to the availability and price of hiring <br />an expert to go over the Village insurance policies. Roll Call Ayes (5)-NayeasO <br /> <br />Mrs. Grace Klohn, Interior Decorator who was asked to write the specifications <br />for the carpeting and drapery for the Municipal :Liquor Store, presented the <br />specifications and samples sf the carpet design and drawings of the drapery <br />pattern. <br />MCGEE MOVED, HAMMERSTEN SECONDED the clerk be authorized to advertise for bids <br />for the carpeting and drapery to be installed at the Municipal Liquor Store. <br />Roll Call Ayes (5)-Nayew (0). <br /> <br />Bertram Getsug, Advance Construction Co., presented : plans and asked per- <br />mission to buil~ an addition to the Lexington Plaza. <br />HAMMERSTEN MOVED, C.ARLSON SECONDED Advance Construction Co. be given permission <br />to build an addition to the Lexington Pkza b1rtween Dionne and Roma, sub¡ject <br />to the checking of the plans by the building inspector. Roll Call Ayes (5)- <br />Na,yes (0). <br /> <br />Letters were read from Representative Eugene McCarthy and Senator Edw. Thye <br />in regard to the resolution we went them asking thetj to oppose the passage <br />of the Fulbright Bill which would raise the natural gas r,te. They both <br />stated they voted "No" on the bill. The letters were placed on file. <br /> <br />Correspondence was received from the Rtpsey County Land Commissioner in <br />regard to tax delinquent land in Roseville. As there were some parcels the <br />Council felt should be used for drainage purposes, MCGEE MOVED, C.ARI.SON <br />SECONDED the matter be referred to the Village Engineer for Arther study <br />and report back at the next meeting. Roll Call Ayes (5)-Naye8 (0). <br /> <br />At the last meeting of the Council a letter was received from the County Eng. <br />concerning the payment for certain lights placed ()]Ier highways and it was <br />referred to the Eñgineer for investigation and recommendation. <br />
