<br />CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br />ORDINANCE NO. 920 <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE REPEALING SECTIONS 13.310, 13.320, 13.330, and <br />13.340 OF THE CITY CODE OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE AND ADDING A <br />NEW CHAPTER 84 REGULATING USE OF NEWSPAPER RECEPTACLES. <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Roseville does hereby ordain: <br /> <br />I. <br /> <br />Sections 13.310, 13.320, 13.330, and 13.340 of the City Code of the City of <br /> <br />Roseville are hereby repealed. <br /> <br />II. <br /> <br />The City Code of the City of Roseville is hereby amended by adding a new <br /> <br />Chapter 84 to read as follows: <br /> <br />84. Newspaper Receptacles <br /> <br />84.010. Definition of Newspaper Receptacles. For the <br />purposes of this ordinance, a "newspaper receptacle" is any outside <br />device, whether tubular, box shaped, or otherwise, designed for and <br />used to receive newspapers, advertising flyers, or similar printed <br />material, delivered by a carrier. Included in this definition are such <br />devices which may be attached to the sides of buildings, free standing <br />posts, mailbox posts, and other outside structures. <br /> <br />84.020. Newspaper Receptacles Limited. Newspaper recep- <br />tacles are prohibited in public rights-of-way except at the roadway <br />curb of each lot no more than two (2) newspaper receptacles may be <br />attached to a rural delivery mailbox post. On lots where no mailbox <br />post is available or where such placement is impractical, no more <br />than two (2) newspaper receptacles may be placed on a single post, <br />provided that if there is a mailbox on the lot, the newspaper <br />receptacle post shall be located within eighteen (18) inches of the <br />mailbox post. In no event will there be more than two (2) newspaper <br />receptacles on any lot. <br /> <br />84.030. Exceptions. <br /> <br />(1) Where rural mailboxes are located on one side of the <br />street, newspaper receptacles may be placed on the <br />side of the street where the residence is located or <br />
