<br />Roseville Planning Commission Meeting <br /> <br />Wednesday, February 6, 1985 <br /> <br />The February 6, 1985 regular meeting of the Roseville Planning Commission was called <br />to order by Chairman t'liski at 7: 30 p.m. <br /> <br />Merrbers Present: Johnson, Matson, Moeller, Berry, DeBenedet, Dressler and Hiski. <br /> <br />Members Absent: ~bne. <br /> <br />Staff Present: Council liaison June Demos, Planning Consultant Howard Dahlgren, <br />Assistant City Engineer David Drown, and Assistant City f'lJanager <br />Steve North. <br /> <br />Approval Qf l>'linutes <br /> <br />l1atson moved, Berry seconded that the minutes of the regular meeting of the January 2, <br />1985 be approved. <br /> <br />Roll Call, Ayes: Johnson, Matson, Berry, DeBenedet, Dressler and Hiski. <br /> <br />Nays: None. <br /> <br />Abstained: r.1oeller, because he was absent fror.1 the meeting. <br /> <br />Planning File 1563 - Ashland Oil request for special use permit and variance to <br />setback at 2172 Lexington Avenue. <br /> <br />~jientation <br /> <br />Hr. Dahlgren indicated Ashland Oil proposes to develop a SuperAmerica service station <br />on the site, formerly occupied by Knowlan's SUpermarket. They are seeking a special <br />use permit for the service station and a variance to the setback from the north <br />property line for the existing building. <br /> <br />Mr. Dahlgren noted the applicant has agreed to dedicate ten feet of right-of-way for <br />County Road B and 16 feet, 6 inches of right-of-way for Lexington Avenue. <br /> <br />Robert Johnson, attorney representing SuperAmerica, indicated the firm desires to be <br />a good citizen in the community. He stated the neighbors of a SUperAmerica developed <br />in Coon Rapids were originally very concerned, but now are happy to have the facility <br />in their area. The facility will employ 20-30 people. <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />Mr. Polk, architect representing SuperAmerica, stated they have a lavish landscape <br />plan. The landscaping for SuperAmerica sites developed in the last two years has <br />been greatly enhanced. <br />
