<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular <br /> <br />meeting of the City Council of the City of Roseville, County of <br /> <br />Ramsey, State of Minnesota was duly held on the <br /> <br />8th <br /> <br />day of <br /> <br />November <br /> <br />, 1993 at 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />The following members were present: P. Johnson, Cushman, <br /> <br />Goedeke, and Maschka, <br /> <br />and the following members were <br /> <br />absent: V. Johnson. <br /> <br />Member Cushman <br /> <br />moved that the following resolution <br /> <br />be adopted. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />9008 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Roseville has <br /> <br />determined it would be in the best interest of the city to assume <br /> <br />responsibility for the DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) Bike- <br /> <br />a-thon program previously a Roseville Rotary Program. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the DARE Bike-a-thon program raises money for the <br /> <br />DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Eduction) program which is an early <br /> <br />prevention program and educates children in the dangers of drugs <br /> <br />and aims to prevent drug usage by building self-esteem in children <br /> <br />so that they can say "no to drugs". These Bike-a-thons have been <br /> <br />very successful in raising money for this important program. The <br /> <br />past two Bike-a-thons have raised approximately the net amount of <br /> <br />$20,000.00 each for the program. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Rotary indicates its willingness to continue to <br /> <br />support the program in providing for volunteer resources and in <br />
