EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE <br />VARIANCE ROA OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the Variance Board of the City of <br />Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota, was held on the 3rd day of August, 2005 at 5:00 p.m. <br />The following members were present: Chair Bakeman and Members Traynor and <br />Doherty.. <br />Variance Board Member Bakeman introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />VB RESOLUTION N0.23 <br />WHEREAS, Edina Realty (Terry McDonough) requested approval of a 5 foot setback <br />VARIANCE to Section 10009.031VL16A of the Roseville City Sign Code to allow the for <br />relocation and placement of a ground sign, and <br />WHEREAS, the Edina property is located at 2803 Lincoln Drive, and legally described <br />as: <br />Lot 2, Block 2, Drank 2°d Addition, subject to road (I)oc. No. 2712192) <br />PIN: 04-29-23-41-0028 <br />WHEREAS, City Code Section 1005.01 (Minimal Dimensional Requirements) requires <br />structures to be set back a minimum of 30 feet from a property line adjacent a public street <br />(corner lot). A pylon sign is a structure and is required to meet the principal structure setback of <br />30 feet, and <br />WHEREAS, City Code Section 1009.08E limits pylon and ground signs to a maximum <br />size of 100 sq. ft. in a General Business District, and <br />WHEREAS, City Code Section 1009.04M states: Ground signs shall be limited to a <br />maximum of 8 feet (8') in height. Ground signs may be set back from street rights of way a <br />distance equal to one-half (1/2) of the setback for a pylon sign in the same zoning district. <br />Therefore a sign of 8 feet in height and up to 100 s.f. in size, could be set to within 15 feet of the <br />right of way line without a variance. <br />
