<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF 11IE VILLAGE COUNCIL <br />OF ROSEVILLE, MINNESOTA, HELD ON MONDAY, AUGUST 23, 1971 <br /> <br />* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting <br />of the Village COuncil of the Village of Roseville, Ramsey COlDlty, <br />Minnesota, was duly held in the Village Hall at 2701 North Lexington <br />Avenue, Roseville, Mirmesota, on Monday, the 23rd day of August, <br />1971, at 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Mayor Moll, COlmcilmen <br />Anderson, Grauel, Curley and Linebarger <br /> <br />and the following were absent: None <br /> <br />Member Curley <br />and moved its adoptlCJ1: <br /> <br />introduced the following resolutim <br /> <br />RESOLUflOO NO. 5717 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in 1967, Ramsey COlDlty infonned the Village of <br />Roseville that no additional indoor ice arenas would be constructed <br />by Ramsey County; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in 1968-69, the Village of Roseville constructed an <br />indoor Ice Arena at a bonded cost of $490,000 after receiving <br />authorizatim by a vote of the people; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the citizens of Roseville were assured that the Ice <br />Arena would be self-supporting; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS. in 1969-70 and 71, the Roseville Ice Arena was <br />essentially self supporting; and <br /> <br />WHBREAS, in 1969 at the urging of the Ramsey County Govenunent <br />the Legislature authorized Ramsey COlDlty to build eight indoor ice <br />arenas at a total cost of $2.5 million; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the balds were to be sold without prior approval of <br />Ramsey County Citizens; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the 1969 law states that organized teams are to have <br />free use of the eight arenas; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the County Board has set a rental fee of $25 per hour <br />for the use of the eight arenas by other than organized teams; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Roseville Ice Arena depends en ice rental to both <br />organized tems and others for a total of $63,207 out of gross revenues <br />of $182,670 in 1970; and <br />
