Several guests were in the audience at the meeting.
Approval of Minutes
Chair Delmore questioned the status of generic community input forms previously discussed
with City Manager Malinen; and Commissioners briefly reviewed the role of the HRC in
resolving citizen issues.
Commissioner McKenzie opined that "Facing Race" was a great start for the HRC.
Commissioner Venters moved and Commissioner Bosch seconded approval of the August 14,
2007 meeting minutes as amended. Motion carried 5/1/1 (McGehee abstained).
Corrections
Page 5, Line 8, Commissioner Oftelie corrected her title as "technical writer."
Page 2, Lines 1 -6 and 13 -16, Chair Delmore noted several general information items;
however, no changes were indicted.
Chair Delmore advised that her recollection was that a Chairperson was elected in October. Mr.
Miller advised that he would check and advise the HRC.
Chair Delmore questioned the delay in receipt of previously- discussed diversity training
documentation and demographic information from City Manager Malinen. Chair Delmore noted
that there appeared to be some confusion in the information requested, noting the HRC's receipt
of diversity training trainers from Human Resources Director Eldona Bacon, which had not been
requested by the HRC.
Commissioners discussed training specific to the City's Police Department (Venters); previous
sensitivity training of the Police Department, unless there had been substantial turnover of
officers suggesting another training session was needed (McKenzie); and whether the Roseville
Police Department and /or City employees had received any GLTB safe space training (Bosch).
