Cruisin' for St. Jude Fundraising Event — Flaherty's Arden Bowl (continued) <br />Mr. Dehkes stated this was correct. <br />Councilmember Holden asked how ambulances and other emergency vehicles would be able to <br />access the site if the participants are going to be parking in the parking lot. <br />Mr. Flaherty stated the entrance /exit points would not be blocked. All the activities of the event <br />will be held in the middle of the parking lot. <br />Councilmember Holden asked how much of the money raised will go to St. Jude. <br />Mr. Dehkes stated 100% of the money raised would go to St. Jude. <br />Councilmember Holden asked how Flaherty's would ensure minors are not served during the <br />outside event. <br />Mr. Flaherty stated when participants register they will be carded at that time. If they are of legal <br />drinking age they will be given a wristband to wear at the outdoor concert later in the day. Also, <br />in order to purchase food or drinks tickets would need to be purchased at which time they will be <br />carded as well to ensure they are of legal age. He clarified the event is open to the public and they <br />would also have to purchase tickets for the food and beverages outside and they would be carded <br />as well. <br />Councilmember Werner asked what the maximum number of people Flaherty's could handle for <br />this event. <br />Mr. Flaherty stated they should be able to handle up to 300 people. They are not anticipating this <br />many people this year and the number of participants would depend on the weather. He clarified <br />that Flaherty's will ensure there is enough staff on hand to accommodate an increased number of <br />people. <br />Councilmember Holden asked what the plans were for bathroom facilities for those people <br />outside. <br />Mr. Dehkes stated they had planned on people using the bathroom facilities inside the building. <br />Councilmember Holden asked if they had planned to hire a police officer for the event. <br />Mr. Dehkes stated they had talked with the Ramsey County Sheriff's Department and they did <br />not feel it was necessary to have a police officer on site. <br />Mayor Grant expressed concerns about the bikes being parked at the back of the parking lot <br />because those people coming and going will have to go through the crowd. <br />Mr. Flaherty stated the aisles would be blocked off and clear so that they would be able to come <br />and go without going through the crowd. <br />Mr. Tamble asked how big the overflow parking lot is and if this could be used for this event. <br />
