ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL—MAY 29, 2012 12
AMENDMENT VOTE:
The motion carried (4-1) (Holden opposed).
Councilmember Werner asked if the driving lane adjacent to the drive-thru would be two-way
traffic.
City Planner Beekman stated this would be the case.
Councilmember Holmes expressed concern with the traffic in this area but respected the opinion
of Staff on this matter.
Mayor Grant questioned the level of traffic anticipated at the site.
Larry Walsh, Cub Pharmacy Manager, commented the level of traffic anticipated to be using
the drive-thru was approximately 10-15% of the total pharmacy business.
Councilmember Holmes requested further information on the hours of operation for the
pharmacy.
Mr. Walsh explained the pharmacy was open Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. On
Saturday and Sunday the pharmacy was open from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Councilmember Holden clarified the drive-thru would not be open 24 hours a day.
Mr. Walsh stated this was the case.
The motion as amended carried unanimously (5-0).
9. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
A. Website Redesign Project Update
Community Development Director Hutmacher stated on October 10, 2011, the Council
appointed a website ad hoc committee to work on a new City website. On February, 27, 2012,the
Council approved a contract with CivicPlus for the design, hosting and support for a new City
website. Since contract approval, the website ad hoc committee has been very busy and has met
every deadline set by CivicPlus. She reviewed the list of accomplishments to date as outlined in
the staff report.
Community Development Director Hutmacher discussed the website project schedule
identified by the ad hoc committee and CiviePlus. It was noted that if the City misses any
significant deadline, such as approval of final design (September 7) and submission of content
(September 28), the "go live" date would be delayed by at least three months due to the schedules
of other projects in CiviePlus' pipeline. Therefore, the ad hoc committee has been careful to
schedule adequate time for each phase of the project to secure the go live date. If all things go
according to plans, the new website would go live at 5:00 p.m. on December 7, 2012.
