5. MARKETING BROCHURE <br /> The Chair and Staff will be working on the inside of the marketing • <br /> brochure. The inside of the brochure will look the same as the previous <br /> layout, except more visual descriptives will be used. The Chair will <br /> update the EDC on the progress at the November meeting. <br /> 6. COUNCIL REPORT <br /> Council Liaison Aplikowski stated the Arden Manor Mobile Home Park <br /> may be affected by the Highway 96 Reconstruction Project. The <br /> reconstruction project may require the acquisition and removal of up to <br /> 17 mobile homes. <br /> The Council has voted in favor of participating in the Quad Ice Arena. <br /> The Council approved the preliminary Study for the 1997 Street <br /> Improvements. <br /> The park trail has been completed from City Hall south to Floral Park. <br /> Arby's/Sbarro is proposing a fast food restaurant at Lexington Avenue <br /> and Grey Fox Road. Given, that the fast food restaurant is located within <br /> 1,320 feet of another fast food use (Burger King), the Planning <br /> Commission denied this request. The City Council is scheduled to • <br /> receive the Planning Commission's recommendation on October 28, <br /> 1996. Council Liaison Aplikowski, also stated that the City is working <br /> with the applicant and Saint Paul Companies (the property owner) in an <br /> attempt to develop the area. <br /> SCORE Recycling Grant Fund will provide approximately $20,000 <br /> towards the costs of the City's 1997 recycling program. <br /> The Ramsey County Sheriff met with the Council to talk about their <br /> plans on building communication services and working with <br /> neighborhood groups. <br /> There will be a Business Luncheon meeting on Thursday, October 24, <br /> 1996 at 12:00 p.m. at the Holiday Inn in Arden Hills. To date, 93 <br /> invitations have been sent out to Arden Hills businesses. <br /> The City is still looking at alternate City Hall locations. <br /> • <br />
