ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL JANUARY 28, 2013 4 <br /> <br /> <br />Public Works Director Maurer <br /> explained the City was being asked to approve and enter into <br />three cooperative agreements with Ramsey County and MnDOT for this project. One agreement <br />is a MnDOT Cooperative Construction Agreement, the second is a Ramsey County Cooperative <br />Agreement and the last is a MnDOT/Ramsey County Signal Agreement. Staff discussed with the <br />Council each document in detail, as well as and recommended <br />approval of the agreements as presented. <br /> <br />Councilmember Holden <br /> expressed concern with the level of communication between the City <br />and MnDOT. She questioned how this agreement would assist. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Maurer <br /> stated that from a construction standpoint, staff would be able to <br />attend weekly meetings. He explained he had a good relationship with Ramsey County, which <br />would assist with gathering additional information from MnDOT when necessary. He <br />commented that some of the same MnDOT staff would be working on this project as was done in <br />the I-694 project. <br /> <br />Mayor Grant <br />encouraged staff to be proactive in communicating regularly with MnDOT to <br /> He requested further information on the <br />new intersection to Arden Manor. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Maurer <br /> discussed the new alignment stating the existing entrance would <br />be closed. He stated the entrance would be opposite Round Lake Road and would havea <br />signalized system. He commented that Ramsey County would be covering the expense of this <br />realignment. <br /> <br />Councilmember Holden <br /> asked if Ramsey County had addressed any landscaping issues in this <br />agreement. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Maurer <br /> indicated that landscaping is not covered in this agreement and <br />that it is a separate project that will be completed after the grade separation. He noted that <br />Ramsey County will be applying for a grant from MnDOT to complete the landscaping at this <br />intersection. <br /> <br />MOTION:Mayor Grantmoved and Councilmember Holmesseconded a motion to <br />Adopt Resolution 2013-010 - Entering into MnDOT Agreement No. 02885 for <br />the US 10/Hwy 96 Grade Separation Project, to Adopt Resolution 2013-011 <br />Entering into Ramsey County Agreement PW 2013-002 for the US 10/Hwy 96 <br />Grade Separation Project, and to Adopt Resolution 2013-012 Entering into <br />MnDOT Signal Agreement No. 02212-R for the Signal System in the US <br />10/Hwy 96 Grade Separation Project.
