5 <br />CommissionerHolewareferredtotheretailspacelayoutandaskediftheapartmentresidents <br />couldaccesstheretailareawithoutgoingoutside.Itwasnotedtheycouldnot.Commissioner <br />HolewareferredtotheeastaccessandCityPlannerMeaganBeekmannotedsomeadditional <br />reviewwouldbeneeded.CityPlannerMeaganBeekmanstatedtheaccessmayneedsome <br />further discussion. <br />CommissionerZimmermanaskedaboutthepropertybemarketedtocollegestudentsandif <br />commuterbuseswouldbeutilizedtotransportthestudentstothecolleges.CityPlannerMeagan <br />Beekmanstatedthatisnotsomethingthatispartoftheplan.Commissioner <br />Zimmermanaskediftherewasabusprovidedbythecollegeswouldthathaveanimpactonthe <br />access.CityPlannerMeaganBeekmanstatedashuttlecouldeasilyenterandexitonthenorth <br />side. <br />Mr.RobDavidsonappearedbeforetheCommission.Hestatedtheyworkedhardtoaddressthe <br />requests of the Commission and feels this plan is a win-win proposal. <br />ChairLarsonaskedhowthe4-doorunitwouldwork.Mr.Davidsonstatedtheconstructionofa <br />3-or4-bedroomunitwouldcombine3or4hotelroomswiththelivingareainthecenter.They <br />are suggesting a movable wall and are attempting to create flexibility depending on the market. <br />CommissionerHamescommentedthisisalsoafamily-friendlyplanthatwouldmeettheneeds <br />of families. <br />CommissionerHolewaaskedaboutthesharedaccesswiththeadjoiningproperty.Mr.Davidson <br />statedtheideaofcombiningthethreedrivewaysisagoodidea;however,theyarebeingaskedto <br />createaturnaroundonthepropertyandfundacombineddrivewaywithnomonetary <br />compensationcomingtotheowner.Mr.DavidsonstatedTATPropertiesmaybeinterestedin <br />sellingtheotherbusinessaportionoftheirproperty.Theeasementisanissuethattheprivate <br />landowners should discuss and resolve. <br />CommissionerHolewaaskedifthereisaloadingdockfortheirplan.Mr.Davidsonstatedthere <br />would not generally be semi-trucks accessing the property. <br />CommissionerHamesaskediftheturnaroundisforemergencyvehicles.CityPlannerMeagan <br />Beekmanstatedtheturnaroundisfortheotherpropertiesandwouldaccommodateasemi-truck. <br />CityPlannerMeaganBeekmannotedcurrentlythereisasharedeasementofwhichthecurrent <br />Holiday Inn property is not part of. <br />CommissionerHamesaskediftheotherpropertiesarecontributingtotheeasementandCity <br />PlannerMeaganBeekmanansweredintheaffirmativeandindicatedfromtheperspective <br />, it would be a shared easement among the property owners. <br />CommissionerScottstatedhebelievesitshouldbeamatterdiscussedbetweentheproperty <br />owners. Commissioner Hames agreed. <br />Itwasnotedthepropertyownerswouldneedtopayfortheportionoftheimprovementstheyare <br />benefittingfrom.CityPlannerMeaganBeekmanstateditisimportantthatitbediscussedatthis <br />time. <br />CommissionerThompsonaskediftherehavebeenanydiscussionsamongthepropertyowners. <br />Mr. Davidson stated no one has ever approached him about the access. <br />
