The Bethel Library is undersized for its collections and collaborative, active <br />learning. The Hagstrom Center is expanded on four levels to the south <br />(about 9,200 square feet) and to the east (30,000 square feet) a <br />renovated and reorganized to make the best use of the 60,000 squ <br />available space. The south addition replaces the existing atrium <br />focus on active learning visible from Bethel Drive. The southeas <br />new space includes a new signature entrance that both is invitin <br />approaching from the south residence halls and improves access t <br />classrooms. One option for the east expansion is the creation of <br />for some library collections. This allows the remaining library <br />more as a learning commons.
