City of Arden Hills Personnel Policy Effective August 26, 2003 <br /> <br />PERSONAL TIME OFF (Adopted 10/28/13) <br /> <br />All employees hired before June 29, 2002, will convert their cur <br />hours to Personal Time Off (PTO). The conversion will be calcul <br />current accrued sick leave and current accrued vacation and substracting two <br />hundred forty hours (240) as PTO. The remainder of the sick lea <br />the <br />employee qualifies under Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability or when <br />accrued PTO is exhausted. Regular full-time employees who have completed ten (10) <br />or more years of continuous service with the City and who leave <br />receive 33-1/3% of unused, accumulated sick leave or <br />separation. Regular full-time employees who have completed twenty (20) or more <br />years of continuous service with the City and who leave in good <br />50% of unused, accumulated sick leave or aration. To <br />qualify for this benefit an employee must have an established si <br />resulting from the conversion of the PTO program. Any benefit p <br />into the employee-Employment Health Care Savings Plan. <br /> <br />Personal Time Off (PTO) is authorized absence from duty. <br /> <br />Regular full time employees and regular part time employees are eligible for Personal Time <br />Off (PTO). Employees may not use Personal Time Off until successful completion of their <br />probationary period, although Personal Time Off accumulates during this time. Personal <br />Time Off for regular part time employees shall be pro-rated. <br /> <br />The following chart provides information regarding Personal Time Off. Years of service are <br />calculated from the anniversary date of employment. <br /> <br />PERSONAL TIME OFF SCHEDULE <br /> Completed Years <br /> of Service Personal Time <br /> 0-5 7 hours bi-weekly <br /> 5-10 9 hours bi-weekly <br /> after 10 10 hours bi-weekly <br /> <br />stth <br />Benefit year for Personal Time Off is March 1 through February 28. A maximum of 240 <br />hours of Personal Time Off may be carried over from benefit year to benefit year. Carry-over <br />beyond 240 hours of Personal Time Off will only be made under special circumstances with <br />approval from the City Administrator. <br /> <br />All employees must receive permission from the department supervisor or City Administrator <br />at least ten (10) working days prior to taking Personal Time Off when Personal Time Off is <br />to extend for a period of more than three (3) consecutive days.
