<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Approved: <br /> <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS, MINNESOTA <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />WORK SESSION <br />WEDNESDAY, JUNE 3, 2015 <br />ARDEN HILLS CITY HALL <br /> <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, Chair Roberta Thompson called to order the work <br />session meeting at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> <br />Present were: Chair Roberta Thompson, Commissioners Brent Bartel, Andrew Holewa, <br />Steven Jones, Phillip Neururer, and Clayton Zimmerman. <br /> <br />Absent: Commissioner Angela Hames. <br /> <br />Also present were: City Planner Ryan Streff; Associate Planner Matthew Bachler; and <br />Councilmember Fran Holmes. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA – JUNE 3, 2015 <br /> <br /> The Agenda was approved as presented. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION ITEMS <br /> <br />A. Comprehensive Plan Amendment (CPA) Discussion <br /> <br />City Planner Streff stated that this item has been prepared to provide background on the <br />Comprehensive Plan Amendment (CPA) process in preparation for the public hearing on the <br />CPA for the TCAAP redevelopment project. The report to the Planning Commission outlines the <br />sections of the Comprehensive Plan requiring amendments in order to reflect the changes <br />suggested by the TCAAP Redevelopment Code (TRC), provides a timeline for City review and <br />approval of the CPA & TRC, and discusses the Metropolitan Council review process. <br /> <br />City Planner Streff commented that the Comprehensive Plan is a policy document that asks: <br />where are we now, where do we want to go and how do we get there. The document reflects the <br />City’s value system and creates a framework for the future by providing an overall vision for the <br />City. As a guiding tool, the Plan provides a system for measuring progress, direction for day-to- <br />day and long-term decision-making, and a framework for setting priorities in several key areas
